Abstract: A method for the measurement of a physical parameter of a liquid by means of a sensor having at least one measuring tube for conducting the liquid, wherein the measuring tube can be excited to vibrate in at least one flexural vibration mode, comprises: determining at least one current value of a vibration parameter of the flexural vibration mode; determining a measurement value of the physical parameter according to the current value of the vibration parameter, wherein the measurement value is compensated in respect of the resonator effect according to a current value for the natural frequency of the flexural vibration mode and according to the sound velocity of the liquid conducted in the measuring tube, wherein the value for the sound velocity is provided independently of the vibrations of the measuring tube.

Abstract: A method for determining a viscosity of a medium based on damping of an oscillation mode of a measurement tube comprises exciting oscillations of an oscillation mode; detecting a sequence of provisional damping measurement values for the measurement tube oscillation mode; and calculating target measurement values. The influence of the cross-sensitivity of the damping for the flow rate of the medium is corrected by determining rectified damping measurement values that correspond to damping when the medium is at rest and determining viscosity on the basis of the rectified damping measurement values, or correcting the influence of the cross-sensitivity of the damping for the flow rate of the medium by determining provisional intermediate values of a damping-dependent variable, determining rectified intermediate values that correspond to the intermediate values when the medium is at rest, and determining the target measurement values on the basis of the rectified intermediate values.

Abstract: A measuring system comprises a measuring transducer of vibration-type having a tube arrangement, an exciter arrangement, a sensor arrangement, and a measuring system electronics. The measuring system electronics is adapted in a first operating mode to supply current to the oscillation exciters whereby the tube arrangement executes wanted oscillations with an oscillation frequency predetermined by the driver signals and to receive and to evaluate oscillation measurement signals representing oscillatory movements of the wanted oscillations. The measuring system electronics is further adapted in a second operating mode to supply current to the oscillation exciters that only the tube executes wanted oscillations and the tube executes no wanted oscillations while nevertheless executing mechanical oscillations coupled with the wanted oscillations of the tube and to receive and to evaluate both oscillation measurement signals representing oscillatory movements of the wanted oscillations and also oscillation measurement signals representing oscillatory movements of the coupled oscillations.

Abstract: The method of the present disclosure for signaling a standard frequency of a density meter comprises: exciting bending vibrations of a measurement tube at an excitation mode working frequency, the working frequency depending on the density of a medium conducted in the measurement tube and on a disturbance variable; determining a characteristic value of the working frequency; determining a value representing the disturbance variable; calculating a corrected density value of the medium as a function of the characteristic value of the working frequency and of the value representing the disturbance variable; calculating a characteristic value of the standard frequency as a function of the corrected density value, the standard frequency being the frequency which produces the corrected density value in a calculation of the density using a frequency-dependent standard function which is not dependent on the disturbance variable; and providing a signal representing the standard frequency.

Abstract: A measuring system includes a measuring and operation electronic unit (ME) and a transducer device electrically coupled thereto. The transducer device (MW) has at least one tube, through which fluid flows during operation and which is caused to vibrate meanwhile, a vibration exciter, two vibration sensors for generating vibration signals, and two temperature sensors for generating temperature measurement signals (θ1, θ2). The temperature sensors are coupled to a wall of the tube in a thermally conductive manner. The ME is designed to feed electrical power into the at least one vibration exciter to cause mechanical vibrations of the tube by an electrical excitation signal. The ME generates a mass flow sequence representing the instantaneous mass flow rate (m) of the fluid, so that, at least for a reference mass flow rate, the mass flow measurement values are independent of the temperature difference.

Abstract: A measuring system comprises: a measuring transducer; transmitter electronics; at least one measuring tube; and at least one oscillation exciter. The transmitter electronics delivers a driver signal for the at least one oscillation exciter, and for feeding electrical, excitation power into the at least one oscillation exciter. The driver signal, has a sinusoidal signal component which corresponds to an instantaneous eigenfrequency, and in which the at least one measuring tube can execute, or executes, eigenoscillations about a resting position. The eigenoscillations have an oscillation node and in the region of the wanted, oscillatory length exactly one oscillatory antinode. The driver signal has, a sinusoidal signal component with a signal frequency, which deviates from each instantaneous eigenfrequency of each natural mode of oscillation of the at least one measuring tube, in each case, by more than 1 Hz and/or by more than 1% of said eigenfrequency.

Abstract: A measuring device for determining density, mass flow rate and/or viscosity of a flowable medium includes: an oscillator including at least one oscillatable measuring tube for conveying the medium, and having at least one oscillatory mode, whose eigenfrequency depends on density of the medium; an exciter for exciting the oscillatory mode; at least one oscillation sensor for registering oscillations of the oscillator; and an operating-evaluating circuit, which is adapted to supply the exciter with an excitation signal, to register signals of the oscillation sensor, based on the signals of the oscillation sensor to ascertain current values of the eigenfrequency of the oscillator as well as variations of the eigenfrequency, and to determine a value characterizing density variations of the medium, wherein the value depends on a function, which is proportional to the variation of the eigenfrequency and has an eigenfrequency dependent normalization.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a Coriolis mass flow meter including: a measuring tube; an one exciter for generating vibrations in the measuring tube; two sensors for detecting the vibrations in the measuring tube and for outputting associated sensor signals; and an operating and evaluating unit for determining a mass flow value of a medium in the measuring tube based on a phase difference or time difference between the sensor signals, wherein for Reynolds numbers below a Reynolds number threshold a cross-sensitivity to a viscosity of the medium correlates with a Stokes number, wherein the operating and evaluating unit is configured to determine a current value of the Stokes number for Reynolds numbers below the lower Reynolds number threshold and to compensate for the influence of the cross-sensitivity in the determining of the mass flow.
