摘要: A protective cover for protection of agricultural products comprises a fibrous nonwoven fabric exhibiting sufficient vapor permeability to alter or control the ripening of the agricultural product so ensconced while retarding passage of dust and insects. The protective cover is positioned generally about associated agricultural products, with the cover being particularly suited for use on products prior to harvest, such as bananas. The cover may be formed from fibrous and/or filamentary elements, and may be formed from fibrous material selected from the group consisting of thermoplastic polymers, thermoset polymers, natural fibers, and combinations thereof. The nonwoven fabric may be formed with protection-enhancing agents such as insecticidal, fungicidal, algaecidal, decay-inhibiting, and UV-protective agents. The nonwoven fabric may be pigmented as desired.

摘要: The present invention is directed to continuous filament nonwoven fabrics, and more specifically directed to continuous filament nonwoven fabrics for use as low-cost disposable airline and rescue operation blankets. Continuous filament fabrics are formed utilizing the spunbond process. The spunbond process and the manner of preparing a spunbond web is set forth in U.S. Pat. No. 3,341,394 to Kinney and U.S. Pat. No. 4,043,201 to Brock, et al., both of which are herein incorporated by reference. The filamentary blankets of the present invention may be disposed after a single use or semi-reusable, wherein the blanket has a limited number of uses before needing to be replaced. Such blankets are suitable for a variety of applications, such as insulative blankets, emergency rescue blankets, institutional blankets, airline blankets, and other applications where blankets are used only a limited number of times or in some cases only once before being discarded.

摘要: Improved fibrous structural reinforcements (16) for castable compositions (14) are provided and methods for making the same. In one implementation, the improved fibrous structural reinforcements rely 16) on an amorphous crystalline component (10), an isotactic crystalline component (12) and profiled terminal ends (20, 22) to improve flexural properties. The isotactic crystalline component (12) provides an initial strength to the fiber (16) and the amorphous crystalline component (10) provides a latent strength once the fiber (16) is subjected to tension and flexural input in the castable construct (14). The profiled terminal ends (20, 22) lock into a cured keyway (301) in the castable construct (14), thereby providing further enhancement to the tensile strength.
