摘要: There are provided a search method of a fixed codebook, and more particularly, a focused search method and apparatus thereof, for being applied to a speech codec for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). The focused search method of the fixed codebook includes: calculating absolute values of correlation vectors of respective pulse locations of tracks 0, 1, 2, and 3 and arranging the pulse locations in a descending order of the absolute values; and selecting a predetermined number of pulse locations for each track among candidate pulse locations arranged and conducting focused search of the selected result. Therefore, it is possible to significantly reduce a calculation amount required for fixed codebook search while maintaining tone quality in a similar level.

摘要: Provided are a combined, fixed codebook searching method and apparatus used in a code excited linear prediction (CELP) speech codec. The method is used in a code excited linear prediction (CELP) speech codec, and includes searching for a fixed codebook using a full search method that searches for the fixed codebook at all pulse positions; selecting a fixed codebook searching method by counting the number of users who are accessing a gateway, comparing the number of users with a predetermined threshold, and selecting a proper fixed codebook searching method based on the result of comparison; searching for the fixed codebook using the selected fixed codebook searching method; and checking whether the search for the fixed codebook is complete for all tracks of the CELP speech codec, terminating a routine of searching for the fixed codebook when it is determined the search is complete for all the tracks, and selecting a fixed codebook searching method again in consideration of the number of gateway users when there remains a track to be searched for. Accordingly, a fixed codebook searching method is selected in consideration of the number of users who are accessing a gateway, thereby enabling an effective adjustment of either the quality of sound or the channel capacity of the gateway.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention pertain to a method and apparatus for sensing infrared (IR) radiation. In a specific embodiment, a night vision device can be fabricated by depositing a few layers of organic thin films. Embodiments of the subject device can operate at voltages in the range of 10-15 Volts and have lower manufacturing costs compared to conventional night vision devices. Embodiments of the device can incorporate an organic phototransistor in series with an organic light emitting device. In a specific embodiment, all electrodes are transparent to infrared light. An IR sensing layer can be incorporated with an OLED to provide IR-to-visible color up-conversion. Improved dark current characteristics can be achieved by incorporating a poor hole transport layer material as part of the IR sensing layer.
