Abstract: Embodiments relate to polyolefin compositions containing one or more high-density polyethylenes (HDPEs) and linear low-density polyethylenes (LLDPEs) and methods for forming the same. The polyolefin composition contains about 40 wt % to about 60 wt % of HDPE and about 40 wt % to about 60 wt % of LLDPE, by weight of the polyolefin composition. The HDPE has a density of greater than 0.93 g/cm3 and a melt index of about 0.2 dg/min to about 10 dg/min. The LLDPE has a density of less than 0.915 g/cm3 and a melt index of about 0.2 dg/min to about 10 dg/min. The polyolefin composition has a density of about 0.91 g/cm3 or greater, a melt index of about 0.5 dg/min to about 6 dg/min, and a Tw1−Tw2 value of about −25° C. or less.

Abstract: In an embodiment, an adhesive composition includes (a) a propylene-based elastomer comprising at least 60 wt % of propylene-derived units and from 2-40 wt % of a C2 and/or a C4-C20 α-olefin-derived units based on a total weight of the propylene-based elastomer, and having a melting temperature of less than 110° C., a heat of fusion of less than 75 J/g, and a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of less than 100,000 g/mol; (b) a polyethylene wax having a density of greater than 0.940 g/cm3, a Mw of from 3,000 g/mol to 30,000 g/mol, and a crystallization temperature of greater than 100° C.; (c) a tackifier; and (d) optionally a polypropylene wax. In another embodiment, an adhesive composition includes 70-80 wt % of a propylene-based elastomer; 10 wt % of a polyethylene wax; 0-10 wt % of a polypropylene wax; and 10 wt % of a tackifier based on a total weight of the adhesive composition.

The films may be used in shrink packaging application.

Abstract: A composition suitable for use in forming a heavy layer of a heavy layered mat and include: 5 wt % to 30 wt % a propylene-based elastomer; 5 wt % to 30 wt % low density polyethylene; 0 wt % to 15 wt % linear low density polyethylene; 50 wt % to 90 wt % filler; and 0.1 wt % to 5 wt % processing aid. Optionally, the composition can further include 0.1 wt % to 20 wt % of a stabilizer and/or an antioxidant. Optionally, the composition can further include 0.1 wt % to 10 wt % EVA copolymer, or the composition can have an absence of EVA copolymer.
