Abstract: The present disclosure relates to combination of images. A method according to an embodiment comprises: receiving a visual image and an infrared (IR) image of a scene and for a portion of said IR image extracting high spatial frequency content from a corresponding portion of said visual image. The method according to the embodiment further comprises combining said extracted high spatial frequency content from said portion of the visual image with said portion of the IR image, to generate a combined image, wherein the contrast and/or resolution in the portion of the IR image is increased compared to the contrast and/or resolution of said received IR image.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure may include an imaging device configured to determine appropriate conditions for updating non-uniformity correction (NUC) terms. In certain embodiments, the imaging device may determine when the imaging device is likely not in use and update NUC terms during the times when the imaging device is likely not in use. Data from various position sensors such as gyroscopes, accelerometers, global positioning system receivers, and/or other data may be used to determine when the imaging device is likely not in use. Such position sensors may be coupled to the imaging device and/or may be remote from the imaging device. In certain embodiments, while NUC terms are updated, imaging data obtained may be modified with historical data to provide usable data.

In one example, a method comprises: determining a blending measure indicating the quality of at least one of said images; combining luminance components of pixel values comprised in the thermal image and of pixel values representing high spatial frequency content comprised in the visual light image based on the blending measure; and generating a contrast-enhanced combined image based on the thermal image and the combined luminance components.

Abstract: An IR camera comprises: a thermal radiation capturing arrangement for capturing thermal radiation of an imaged view in response to input control unit(s) receiving user inputs from a user of the IR camera; a processing unit arranged to process the thermal radiation data in order for the thermal radiation data to be displayed by an IR camera display as thermal images; and a IR camera display arranged to display thermal images to a user of the IR camera. Abstract: Various techniques are disclosed to provide for improved human body temperature detection using thermal images of an inner canthus. In one example, a method includes capturing a thermal image of a human being using a thermal imager. The method also includes determining an uncompensated temperature measurement associated with an inner canthus of a face of the human being using corresponding pixels of the thermal image. The method also includes determining a correction term as a function of a distance between the thermal imager and the human being. The method also includes applying the correction term to the uncompensated temperature measurement to provide a corrected temperature measurement associated with the inner canthus to compensate for attenuation associated with the distance. Additional methods and systems are also provided.
