Abstract: A vehicle identifies, from V2X messages received to a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) transceiver of a vehicle, message information from the received V2X messages indicative of locations of senders of the received V2X messages. The vehicle creates a virtual bounding box surrounding the vehicle based on a current location of the vehicle and a predefined size of the vehicle. The vehicle identifies whether any of the senders are located inside the vehicle using one or more factors, the factors including whether the locations of the senders of the received V2X messages are within the virtual bounding box. The configuration of the vehicle is updated based on whether any of the senders are located inside the vehicle.

Abstract: Performing validation of road usage charging (RUC) systems is provided. A hardware processor of a vehicle receives, from an HMI of the vehicle, input to enter into a testing mode in which a test of RUC functionality of the vehicle is to be performed. In the testing mode, RUC charges are computed for a route from a start location to an end location, based on map and fees information for the test. One or more reports of the charges are generated for verification of the RUC functionality, the charges being verifiable based on the route and the map and fees information being defined for the test.

Abstract: Scheduling communications using a plurality of wireless interfaces is provided. Signals are monitored that are received from a first antenna configured to send and/or receive first messages over a first message protocol. Using the signals, time slot information is updated that is indicative of which equally-sized consecutive future time slots the first antenna is predicted to transmit and/or receive the first messages. A transmission is scheduled of a second message over a second antenna configured to send and/or receive second messages over a second message protocol using the time slot information to avoid out-of-band emission (OOBE) interference.

Abstract: Toll advertisement messages (TAMs) are broadcast via V2X communication, each of the TAMs indicating geographic locations of lanes of a roadway for which tolls are due and cost information for traversing the lanes of the roadway. A tolling usage message (TUM) is received via the V2X communication, the TUM indicating, to a roadside unit (RSU), information regarding a vehicle entering one of the lanes of the roadway and a unique random account identifier to be used by the RSU to identify the vehicle. A toll receipt message (TRM) is broadcast via the V2X communication, the TRM including the unique random account identifier and indicating, to the vehicle, a final cost charged to the vehicle for access to the one of the lanes of the roadway.

The method also includes determining an access plan for connecting the vehicle to the wireless networks as the vehicle travels along the path. The method further includes using the path as a navigation route and executing the access plan to connect the vehicle to the wireless networks according to the access plan.

Abstract: Path-based approach to passive vehicle entry is provided. A vehicle receives messages over a first protocol from a mobile device, each of the messages indicating a heading of the mobile device and a current location of the mobile device. The vehicle and the mobile device pair responsive to the current location of the mobile device being within a first threshold distance to the vehicle. Responsive to the heading indicating that the mobile device is headed towards the vehicle and the current location of the mobile device being within a second threshold distance from the vehicle, the second threshold distance being closer to the vehicle than the first threshold distance, the vehicle activates one or more second transceivers to perform time of flight distance measurement between the vehicle and the mobile device to obtain more precise positional accuracy, and otherwise maintains the one or more second transceivers in a deactivated mode.

Abstract: A secure service registration is provided. A secure connection is established between a vehicle and a management system. A service request is sent to access a V2X service to the management system, the service request including a vehicle public key. It is received, from the management system, a certificate bundle encrypted using the vehicle public key, the certificate bundle including a service public/private key pair and a certificate for accessing the V2X service. The certificate bundle is decrypted using a vehicle private key corresponding to the vehicle public key. The service public/private key pair and the certificate are used to access the V2X service.
