A dialogue apparatus includes a memory, an estimation unit, and a dialogue unit. The memory associatively stores a certain topic and a change in an affective state of each user before and after a dialogue on that topic. The estimation unit estimates an affective state of a user using information obtained from a detector that detects a sign that expresses the affective state of the user. The dialogue unit extracts, from the memory, a topic where the affective state obtained by the estimation unit matches or is similar to a pre-dialogue affective state and where a target affective state matches or is similar to a post-dialogue affective state, and has a dialogue on the extracted topic with the user.
Abstract:
There is provided an unauthorized-communication detecting apparatus. A measuring unit measures a transition of a communication state value between the unauthorized-communication detecting apparatus and a client apparatus. A transition pattern storage unit stores a transition pattern of the communication state value. An unauthorized-communication detecting unit detects unauthorized communication of the client apparatus on the basis of the transition pattern and a transition of the measured communication state value.

An information terminal sequentially transmits one or more packets to an information distribution server, receives acknowledgments for the transmitted packets from the information distribution server, and records a round trip time and occurrence of packet loss for each of the transmitted packets. Among one or more packet sequences, the information terminal counts the number of packet sequences which are such that the number of packet losses included in each of the packet sequences and an increase state of the round trip time for packets included in the packet sequence satisfy respective predetermined conditions. Each of the one or more packet sequences has multiple continuous packets including one or more packets, for which packet loss is recorded among the transmitted packets, at the top. The information terminal calculates a packet loss ratio on the basis of the counted number and the number of transmitted packets.

Abstract:
A user-profile generating apparatus includes a first generating unit and second generating unit. The first generating unit uses the degree of similarity among reference images to generate tree structure information describing a relationship among the reference images by using a tree structure. The degree of similarity is obtained from feature values of the reference images. The second generating unit uses feature values of target images owned by a user and the feature values of the reference images corresponding to leaf nodes in the tree structure to generate a user profile in which the degree of interest of the user is assigned to each node in the tree structure.

There is provided a bandwidth measuring device. An extracting unit extracts, as a cutoff frequency, a highest frequency component among frequency components obtained by Fourier transform on transition data indicating a transition of communication congestion traffic with respect to a time in a communication network. A determining unit determines, based on a relationship between an error ratio and the measurement times in a cycle of the cutoff frequency, a minimum value of the measurement times that satisfy an error ratio. A setting unit sets each of measurement cycle and time so as to satisfy both conditions of a maximum value in the measurement cycle determined based on the cutoff frequency and the minimum value of the measurement times in the cycle corresponding to the determined cutoff frequency. A measuring unit measures a bandwidth of communication performed by using the network, based on the set measurement cycle and time.
