    Abstract: In a laser device and a photoacoustic measurement device including the laser device, the intensity of light at each wavelength made independently controllable. The laser device includes a laser medium which has oscillation wavelengths at a first wavelength and a second wavelength with higher light emission efficiency than at the first wavelength, an excitation section, a first resonator, a second resonator, a Q-value change unit, and a control section. The control section oscillates light having the first wavelength through Q switching when a first delay time has elapsed after the excitation of the laser medium has been started in a case where the oscillation wavelength is the first wavelength, and oscillates light having the second wavelength through Q switching when a second delay time has elapsed after the excitation of the laser medium has been started in a case where the oscillation wavelength is the second wavelength.

    Abstract: The sample imaging apparatus includes: a housing that forms a closed space; a transparent tray on which a sample is placed in the housing; a plane light source that is formed by using a flat light guide plate, which propagates light emitted by a light emitting element in a plane direction, so as to illuminates the sample with illumination light through the tray in the housing; a lens that is disposed in the housing so as to face the plane light source with the tray interposed between the lens and the plane light source and is used for imaging the sample; and an imaging control unit that adjusts a focal length of the lens and performs imaging in a case of imaging the single sample.

    Abstract: Provided is a fluorescence reading device capable of narrowing a distance between a lens unit and an observation object to a distance according to a focal length of a refractive index distribution type lens and focusing fluorescence emitted from the observation object on detecting unit without blurring. Optical fiber sub-bundles equivalent to a light guide unit are buried in lens holding parts of a lens unit. Emission ends of the optical fiber sub-bundles are exposed to upper surfaces of the lens holding parts that face the observation object holding unit. The optical fiber sub-bundles guide the excitation light emitted from the light source and radiate the guided excitation light toward the surface of an observation object that faces the lens unit.

    Abstract: In a solid-state laser device and a photoacoustic measurement device including the solid-state laser device, the distance between a laser rod and a flash lamp is narrowed. A shielding lid shields mirrors and an optical path of laser light from the outside. A first portion of a frame body of a laser chamber is exposed from the shielding lid. A flash lamp stored in the frame body of the laser chamber is able to be removed from and inserted into the first portion of the frame body. A thin film portion having a thickness smaller than the thickness of other portions of the shielding lid is provided in at least a part of a region of the shielding lid covering the optical path of a light beam on the outside in a longitudinal direction from the first portion of the frame body of the laser chamber.

    Abstract: An X-ray imaging apparatus comprises a first grid, a second grid, and an X-ray image detector. The first grid passes X-rays emitted from an X-ray source and produces a first periodic pattern image. The second grid opposes the first grid. The second grid partly blocks the first periodic pattern image and produces a second periodic pattern image with moiré fringes. The X-ray image detector detects the second periodic pattern image and produces image data. The X-ray image detector has pixels arranged in two dimensions in X and Y directions. The M pixels arranged in the Y direction form one group. The group is shifted in the Y direction by the number of the pixels less than M each time. A phase of an intensity modulated signal, composed of pixel values of the pixels in the each shifted group, is calculated. Thereby a differential phase image is produced.
