    摘要： Plastic housing and base construction, especially for compact fluorescent lamps and operating units thereof comprising a housing (1) which is a cup-like body and a base (2) having a metal base shell (26) and at least one metal central (3) or end contact part (4, 5). The base shell (26) is electrically insulated from the central (3) or end contact parts (4, 5). The base (2) also includes a plastic insert body (20) which is open at its upper end and closed at least partially at its lower end. The diameters of the plastic insert body (20) decrease in at least one step and it has a cylindrical or slightly conical mantle portion (24) in the region of its upper end. The base shell (26) includes a thread-free opening portion (27) the inner diameter of which fits to the mantle portion (24) of and is pulled over and fixed to the plastic insert body (20). The metal central contact part (3) or each end contact part (4, 5) is fixed to the lower end of the insert body (20) which has a rim (22) at its upper end for connecting to the housing (1). The housing in turn has a connection end (11) for receiving the insert body (20).

    摘要： The invention relates to a single-ended discharge lamp comprising a discharge tube, inleads connected to the electrodes of the discharge tube and embedded in the sealed portions thereof, a connection member connected to the inleads directly or through an adapter circuit and suitable for connecting the discharge lamp to a power supply, and a housing having a shell supporting the discharge tube as well as a cap mounted on the connection member.At least one primary inlead support member (23) and at least one secondary inlead support member (24) is provided on the inner side of the shell (21), each of the inlead support members (23, 24) has at least one fixing member (23a, 24a) for clamping the inleads (16, 17, 18, 19) and at least some of the inleads are clamped in the fixing member(s) (23a) of the primary inlead support member(s) (23) and some but not all of the inleads are clamped in the fixing member(s) (24a) of the secondary inlead support member(s) (24). The number of the inleads (16, 17) clamped in the fixing member(s) (24a) of the secondary inlead support member(s) (24) is smaller than but at maximum equal to the number of the inleads (16, 17, 18, 19) clamped in the fixing member(s) (23a) of the primary inlead support member(s) (23).

    摘要： A cap for securing a plurality of discharge tubes to a discharge lamp assembly includes a pair of ribs formed on a base plate of the cap. The ribs guide adhesive towards openings in the base plate through which the tubes extend. Adhesive is kept away from the base plate perimeter, which may include a rim, such that assembly of the cap with a housing does not upset the adhesive bond securing the discharge tubes to the cap. Similarly, an assembly method for the cap involves the step of forming a pair of ribs on the base plate of the cap.

    摘要： A bulb-shaped outer envelope for accommodating at least one lamp including a light-emitting body and a control gear is disclosed. The envelope has a substantially spherical section for receiving the light-emitting body, and an elongated end section for receiving at least a part of the control gear components. The elongated end section is provided with a neck section. A substantially tubular neck-extension portion connects to an inner surface portion of and protruding from the neck section. The neck-extension portion is suitable for accommodating a remaining part of the control gear components. In a method for the manufacture of a glass outer envelope, a flare that is normally used in the manufacture of incandescent lamps is turned around by 180°, put into a skirted bulbous envelope, melted into the envelope while the skirt is detached and the flare is formed into a neck-extension portion. A self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamp with the bulb-shaped outer envelope is also disclosed. A part of the ballast components are disposed in the neck-extension portion of the outer envelope.
