    摘要: A full-bridge driver circuit comprising four controllable switches supplies a voltage having alternating polarities between a first and a second electrode of a flat panel display. A series arrangement of a capacitance present between the first and a second electrode, an inductor, and a diode, is arranged in parallel with one of the switches. The diode is poled to be conductive during a resonance phase. The control circuit closes one of the switches so that the inductor and the capacitance form a resonant circuit to reverse the polarity of the voltage in an energy-efficient way without requiring any other controllable switches than the ones forming the full-bridge driver circuit.

    摘要: A display device (506) is driven in a number of sub-fields. Each of the sub-fields is for outputting a respective illumination level by the display device. In each sub-field, a pixel of the displayed image may emit an amount of light corresponding to the particular sub-field, depending on whether it is switched on or not. A required intensity level of the pixel is realized by selecting an appropriate combination of sub-fields in which the pixel is switched on. A selection is made from the possible intensity levels that can be generated by all possible combinations of sub-fields. The selected intensity levels are uniformly spaced on a perceptual scale, allowing a relatively small number of intensity levels for displaying an image with a relatively high perceived quality. The image display unit (300) has a the combinations of sub-fields for the respective selected intensity levels.

The processor (52) retrieves source offset data provided for the 3D image data for calculating the offset O, and determines the offset O in dependence of the source offset data. Advantageously the 3D perception for the viewer is automatically adapted based on the source offset data as retrieved to be substantially equal irrespective of the screen size.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method, load (12) and display device (10) where an output parameter value (V) of a power supply (14) coupled to a separate load (12) is regulated. The load (12) demands at least one such parameter value (V) from the power supply (14). The power supply (14) delivers the output parameter value (V) to the load (12). The load (12) comprises a control signal setting unit (16), which receives information relating to the output parameter value (V) and is connected to the power supply (14) for delivering a control signal (VC). The control signal (VC) includes information relating to the output parameter value (V) and is used by the power supply (14) for regulating the output parameter value (V). This makes the control signal setting unit (16) part of a feedback loop. The parameter value is preferably an output voltage, the load a plasma display panel and the display device a television set.

    摘要: The invention relates to an Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) filter circuit (Fa) for suppressing a Line Conducted Interference (LCI) signal. The EMI filter circuit (Fa) comprises a filter inductance (Lo) to carry a supply current (Isup) between a supply voltage (Vsup) and a load (L). The EMI filter circuit (Fa) further comprises an active circuit (Ca), arranged in parallel with the filter inductance (Lo). The active circuit (Ca) comprises a sensing circuit (Mm) to sense the LCI signal and further comprises a suppressing circuit (Ms) to suppress the LCI signal. In an embodiment of the active EMI filter circuit (Fa), the active circuit (Ca) comprises a negative inductance generating circuit to create a negative inductance value. Selecting the negative inductance generating circuit to create an inductance value (Lca) larger than the inductance value of the filter inductance (Lo) creates a resulting inductance (Lr) which is higher compared to the inductance value of the filter inductance (Lo). In one embodiment, the negative inductance generating circuit comprises a negative impedance converter.

This arrangement enables the resulting image projected in respect of each view to have a uniform and regular distribution of pixels across the image. This improves the visual appearance of the views.
