For a user data, the apparatus uses a method comprising the steps of generating one or more data blocks using a 66 b code format and the user data; generating one or more FEC parity blocks using the 66 b code format, wherein the parity is calculated over the data blocks; and generating an FEC codeword using the data blocks and the FEC parity blocks.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for communications in a passive optical network (PON) system are provided. An optical line terminal (OLT) generates a PON downstream Physical Layer (PHY) frame comprising a downstream physical synchronization block (PSBd) that comprises a wavelength identification (ID) of at least one downstream wavelength of the plurality of downstream wavelengths. The OLT sends the PON PHY frame comprising the wavelength ID in the PSBd to ONU for confirming the at least one downstream wavelength.

An apparatus comprises a tunable transmitter configured to transmit a first optical wave, a filter configured to receive a first reflected optical wave associated with the first optical wave, and a processor configured to tune the tunable transmitter based on the first reflected optical wave.

    摘要: An optical line terminal (OLT) configured to receive transmission requests from a plurality of both network elements (NE) and customer premises equipment (CPE), allocate a timeslot to each NE for transmission on an optical distribution network (ODN), and a timeslot to each CPE for transmission on an electrical distribution network (EDN), wherein each NE intermediates between the OLT and the CPEs. Included is a NE configured to transmit a timeslot to a CPE for transmission on an EDN allocated by an OLT, receive data frames from the CPE during the timeslot, and forward the data frames to the OLT without rescheduling. Also included is a method comprising sending a transmission request to an OLT, receiving a timeslot from the OLT for transmission on an EDN in response, transmitting data frames to a NE during the timeslot, wherein the NE forwards the data frames to the OLT without rescheduling.
