Abstract: A cellular network comprises a plurality of base nodes, including an active base node, to which the wireless device is currently associated. The wireless device transmits data according to a periodicity related transmission mode to the active base node. The method comprises providing information from wireless device to the active base node relating to periodicity of said data transmission, responding at the active base node comprising an indication of assigned resources for multiple transmissions, setting a timer at the active base node relating to said periodicity, upon expiration of the timer, reserving resources at the active base node for reception of the data transmission, transmitting data from the wireless device according to the periodicity, receiving transmitted data at active base node, conducting an acknowledging procedure at the active base node in response to said data reception.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for transmitting system information from a base station to a user equipment, the user equipment being a limited-bandwidth device, camping on the base station, wherein the system information are divided in a plurality of system information blocks, which are at least once transmitted during one broadcast channel modification period, the method comprising the step of—transmitting a first system information block the first system information block comprising at least—a broadcast channel change notification tag, and—a barring indication flag for limited-bandwidth devices, and wherein each other of the plurality of system information blocks is larger in size than the first system information block.

Abstract: A method for downloading subscription information to an identification unit connected to a wireless communication device operating within a cellular network having at least one packet gateway node. A remote provisioning server is connected to the packet gateway node. The wireless communication device comprises basic packet based communication protocol means, and operates in a mode with limited access to the remote provisioning server within the cellular network. The identification unit comprises a controller having advanced packet based communication protocol means by using said basic packet based communication protocol means provided by the wireless communication device. The method comprises submitting a request from the identification unit to the cellular network, by means of said advanced packet based communication protocol means, upon reception of a response message from the cellular network, creating based on received data relative to subscription information, an identity record, and storing said identity record in the identification unit.

Abstract: A method for operating a low-mobility wireless device in a cellular network, wherein the low-mobility wireless device operates with an active base node, and the low-mobility wireless device operates in a first mode, in which measurements of transmissions of base nodes are diminished. When the cellular network is enhanced by a new base node, the active base node transmits a first indication at least to the low-mobility wireless device. The low-mobility wireless device, in response to the reception of the first indication, switches to a second mode of operation, comprising execution of at least one measurement of transmissions of base nodes, and transmits at least one measurement report to the then-active base node. The active base node, upon reception of a measurement report, updates neighbour relation data relating to the base node identified by a base node reference with information obtained from the received measurement report.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method to operate a wireless device, comprising a communication unit, in a wireless cellular network comprising at least two radio access networks, the communication unit being configured to communicate to a network node of the wireless cellular network, the network node being associated to a first radio access network. The method comprises the steps for the communication unit of: detecting if a second radio access network of said wireless cellular network fulfills a predefined set of access parameters, wherein the second radio access network supports a different access technology than the first radio access network. If the second radio access network fulfills said set of access parameters: sending a connection release indication to the network node, receiving from the network node a connection release confirmation message, sending a connection request message to the wireless cellular network with selection of said second radio access network.
