    摘要： A switch for closing an electrical circuit upon relative movement of a pair of members includes a hollow cylindrical tube mounted adjacent one end to one of the members. The other end of the tube is provided with a sharpened edge. A support member of shearable insulating material is mounted to the other member and includes a first cylindrical portion receiving and piloting the free end of the tube and a second adjacent cylindrical portion of larger diameter. In one embodiment, a second contact member includes a first cylindrical portion embedded within the first portion of the support member and a second larger cylindrical portion embedded within the second portion. Upon relative movement of the members, the sharpened edge of the tube shears off the outer layer of the second portion and engages the second portion of the second contact member to close a circuit across a source of power. In another embodiment, a rod extends through both portions of the support member and spaced contacts are embedded within the second portion in the path of movement of the tube for electrical contact thereby when the tube shears off the outer layer of the second portion of the support member.

    摘要： An ignition distributor breaker contact set. One breaker contact is secured to a slotted tab extending substantially normal to a support member and the other breaker contact is secured to a pivotally mounted breaker arm which is operable to place the breaker contacts into electrical contact engagement. An elongated strip of electrically conductive material having a longitudinal slot which provides breaker arm and breaker contact clearance extends substantially parallel to the breaker arm from a point on the breaker arm between the pivot and the breaker contact at which one end is electrically connected to the breaker arm and terminates adjacent an opening through an insulating member located in the slot of the tab. The outer conductive casing of a capacitor which provides one electrical terminal therefor is in electrical contact with one face of the tab and a center conductive post providing the other electrical terminal therefor extends through the opening through the insulating member and is electrically connected to the other end of the elongated strip of electrically conductive material.

    摘要： An automotive air temperature control system including a vacuum regulator which is responsive to the air temperature of the passenger compartment to vary the strength of vacuum applied to a multiposition vacuum motor which is connected to an air damper. The vacuum regulator includes a bleed port with a valve controlled by the combination of a main bimetal element and a compensator bimetal element whose relative response to changes in air temperature is in opposition to one another. The action of the compensator tends to reduce temperature overshoot caused by thermal delay of single bimetal regulators. Cam means connected to a thumbwheel dial are provided for manually setting the vacuum regulator for a range of predetermined temperatures.
