    摘要: A plant having a combustion chamber can employ at least one heat pipe. The heat pipe is mounted to exchange heat between flue gas in a flue gas path and combustion air in a combustion air path. A protection system has a dual passage for separately conducting the flue gas and the combustion gas. The dual passage has a wall separating the flue gas path from the combustion air path. The heat pipe is mounted through the wall. A sensor is mounted about the heat pipe for providing a temperature signal signifying the temperature at the heat pipe. A damper is coupled to the sensor and communicates with the dual passage for mixing relatively cooler air with the flue gas in the dual passage, upstream of the heat pipe, in response to the temperature signal violating a predetermined limit.

[Also in Division G3P] In an air heating and cooling system having a thermal change-over valve, the bleed control for passing air over or by-passing a heat exchanger comprises a hinged valve 40 loaded to close by spring 48 acting on peg 46 and opened with lost motion by the cooling of a bi-metal 72 within a room air intake housing. When the air is too hot, orifice 30 is closed by the valve 40 which carries a universally resiliently mounted ball 51 having a flat surface co-operating with the orifice. With cooling fluid passing through the heat exchanger the change-over valve puts the control over to another orifice controlled by valve 41 actuated by bi-metal 71 which opens the valve on a rise in temperature of the room air. Both bi-metals are secured to a frame 65 adjustable about pivot 62 by a cam on rod 76. Specification 972,077 is referred to.

    摘要: A temperature controlled regulator in which valved air inlets communicated with air pressure sources at different temperatures control the flow of air into a mixing chamber to maintain the outlet temperature of the mixture within specified limits, said regulator being characterized in that the valve actuator has first and second chambers on opposite sides thereof respectively exposed to the pressure of the mixture and to a reduced air pressure between the downstream side of a variable area orifice controlled by a temperature sensor in the regulator outlet and the upstream side of a variable area pressure control or bleed orifice, the first-mentioned variable area orifice being decreased or increased in size by decrease or increase of the mixture temperature with reference to said specified value thus to vary the pressure in said second chamber in relation to the pressure acting in said first chamber to inversely vary the air flow through said inlets thus to maintain a specified temperature of the mixture. The regulator herein is further characterized in that the temperature sensor comprises elongated members which have different coefficients of linear thermal expansion arranged so that, upon increase in temperature of the air mixture, a valve member engaged with the member having the lower coefficient is moved away from a seat member to increase the size of the variable area orifice and so that, upon decrease of the temperature of the mixture, said valve member is moved toward the seat to decrease the size of the variable area orifice, said seat member being yieldable upon engagement by the valve member to prevent damage to the valve member or to the seat member upon yet further decrease of the mixture temperature or during periods of non-use of the regulator.
