Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for thermal management in a CT device comprises first and second thermal management zones, each comprising an x-ray detector, at least one variable speed fan proximate to the x-ray detector, an air temperature sensor positioned to measure an air temperature of the intake air to the variable speed fan, a rail heater in thermal contact with the x-ray detector, a rail temperature sensor in thermal contact with the rail heater to measure a rail temperature, and a controller that controls the variable speed fan as a function of at least the air temperature and the rail heater as a function of the rail temperature to maintain a temperature of the x-ray detector within a predetermined range.

Abstract: Briefly, embodiments of a system, method, and article for estimating a true state of charge (SOC) measurement for a battery based, at least in part, on a measurement of a rate of change of current supplied to the battery at a particular constant voltage value based, in part, on a current charging profile for the battery indicating a mapping between measurements of rates of change of current supplied to the battery at the particular constant voltage value and SOC measurements for the battery. A true SOC measurement for the battery may be determined based, at least in part, on the mapping. The first SOC measurement may be corrected to match the true SOC measurement at a particular point in time.

Abstract: A method for controlling an engine includes the steps of, in response to a transient operating event, determining a first amount of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) that if provided to an intake of the engine would avoid turbocharger compressor surge in a turbocharger, determining a second amount of EGR that if provided to the intake would avoid turbocharger compressor choke in the turbocharger, and determining a third amount of EGR that if provided to the intake would avoid engine smoking, and adjusting EGR provided to the intake of the engine in accordance with the determined first, second, and third amounts.
