摘要: Providing additional mass air flow to an engine of a vehicle to expand an operating range of cylinder deactivation (CDA) is provided. Aspects of the present disclosure describe a method and system to provide additional mass air flow to an engine using an auxiliary air source coupled to a turbocharger. When a low air-to-fuel ratio state is determined in association with operating the vehicle in CDA mode, the auxiliary air source is activated to assist the turbocharger with increase the supply of supercharged intake air to the engine. Accordingly, the operating range of CDA is expanded.

Systems and methods for thermal management of an aftertreatment system are provided herein. A controller coupled to an engine and an exhaust aftertreatment system is configured to: receive a first temperature value associated with the exhaust aftertreatment system and a second temperature value associated with the engine; determine, based on comparing the first temperature value to a first threshold, a thermal management mode including a first thermal management mode or a second thermal management mode; determine, responsive to determining the thermal management mode and based on comparing the second temperature value to a second threshold, an operating mode for the thermal management mode including at least one of a first operating mode or a second operating mode; and initiate the at least one of the first or the second operating mode.

The casing includes a main-bypass passage that defines an inlet and an outlet, a sub-bypass passage that branches off from the main-bypass passage at a branching area, and a guiding wall that changes, at a position upstream of the branching area, a flow direction of the passing air taken in from the inlet. The inlet and the guiding wall are arranged in an arranging direction along a flow direction of the intake air in the duct. The guiding wall includes an inlet side surface that faces the inlet and is not perpendicular to the arranging direction.

摘要: An air flowmeter is arranged in an intake passage. An air-fuel ratio sensor is arranged downstream of an addition valve in an exhaust passage. An estimated air-fuel ratio is calculated based on an intake air amount detected by the air flowmeter and the sum of a fuel amount injected by a fuel injection valve and a fuel amount added by the addition valve. It is determined that there is a stuck-closed anomaly in the addition valve if the logical conjunction is true of a condition that a detected value of the air-fuel ratio sensor is greater than the estimated air-fuel ratio by a margin greater than or equal to a specified amount and a condition that a detected value of the exhaust temperature sensor in a period in which the addition valve adds fuel is smaller than a reference value in the period by a margin greater than or equal to a predetermined amount.

A target fuel pressure during early depressurization is calculated on the basis of a target amount of intake air that is a target load of an internal-combustion engine, a target fuel pressure during a normal state is set on the basis of an actual amount of intake air that is an actual load of the internal-combustion engine, and a lower one of the target fuel pressure during early depressurization and the target fuel pressure during a normal state is set as the target fuel pressure.

摘要: A method for correction of intake pulsation is provided. The method includes calculating a basic air charge amount of a cylinder or a charge amount conversion coefficient based on a measurement value of a sensor disposed in an intake system of an engine. A basic pulsation compensation coefficient for correcting an intake amount from a basic waveform of pulsation is calculated based on opening/closing of an intake valve and engine RPM. The basic pulsation compensation coefficient is then corrected when the basic waveform of the pulsation is changed.

摘要: The invention relates to a multi-fuel engine comprising a primary fuel supply and at least a secondary fuel supply. The primary and at least secondary fuels are arranged to mix with each other and with air for combustion in one or more cylinders of the engine in use. One or more electronic control units (ECU) are provided to control one or more supply characteristics of the primary and/or at least secondary fuel(s) in use. The engine includes a mass air flow (MAF) sensing means. At least one of the ECUs is arranged to receive one or more signals from the MAF sensing means to control, at least partially, one or more supply characteristics of the primary fuel. In addition, the ECU and/or a further ECU is arranged to receive one or more signals from the MAF sensing means to control, at least partially, one or more supply characteristics of the at least secondary fuel.
