Abstract: An environment interactive system includes: a first camera capturing first images of an area external to the vehicle; a second camera capturing second images of an area interior to the vehicle; a telematics control module determining a geographical location of the vehicle; a viewing device displaying items adjacent to, on or in front of detected objects and in a FOV of an occupant. The items correspond to the detected objects; and an infotainment module. The infotainment module: detects the objects based on the first images and the location of the vehicle; based on the second images, tracks at least one of a location of an eye of the occupant or a location of a body part of the occupant other than the eye; and based on the location of the eye and the location of the body part, displays the items via the viewing device in the FOV.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for active vehicle cabin occupant protection system. The method includes detecting a vehicle cabin temperature using a cabin thermal sensor, engaging a vehicle fan and opening a vehicle outside air ventilation duct in response to the vehicle cabin temperature exceeding a first threshold temperature, and starting a vehicle engine and engaging a vehicle air conditioning system in response to the vehicle cabin temperature exceeding a second threshold temperature wherein the second threshold temperature is greater than the first threshold temperature.

Abstract: A method comprises detecting identities of occupants of a vehicle using any of a camera system, an audio system, a biometric sensing system, and a mobile device detection system in the vehicle. The method comprises matching the detected identities to corresponding profiles of the occupants. The profiles include permissions set by the occupants for collecting data about preferences of the occupants. The method comprises perceiving, based on the permissions in the profiles, preferences of the occupants for inputs received by the occupants. The perceiving includes capturing responses of the occupants to the inputs using any of the camera system, a haptic sensing system, and an audio system in the vehicle, and wherein the perceiving further includes processing the responses using trained models. The method comprises adding the preferences to the profiles to provide content to the occupants based on the preferences stored in the profiles.

Abstract: Battery systems including battery cells and hydrogen-permeable membranes are provided. In one example, a battery system includes a battery cell. The battery cell includes a cell enclosure disposed about a cell interior. At least one multi-layer stack is disposed in the cell interior and includes a cathode, an anode and a separator disposed therebetween. A hydrogen-permeable membrane is in fluid communication with the cell interior and is configured to selectively allow any hydrogen produced in the battery cell to pass from the cell interior through the hydrogen-permeable membrane to outside of the battery cell while substantially preventing other fluids from passing through the hydrogen-permeable membrane.

Abstract: A system in a vehicle includes two or more modules. Each of the two or more modules includes battery cell groups. The battery cell groups of the two or more modules provide propulsion power for the vehicle. The two or more modules also include a voltage sensor to measure a voltage output by the battery cell groups of the module, a temperature sensor arranged to measure a temperature within the module, a gas sensor arranged to sense a hydrogen level within the module, and an infrared sensor positioned to obtain an infrared radiation profile within the module. The system also includes two or more relays, one of the two or more relays being arranged to electrically isolate one of the two or more modules based on the voltage, the temperature, the hydrogen level, or the infrared radiation profile for the one of the two or more modules.
