Abstract: A method of installing a stator and a motor housing includes inserting a stator into a motor housing, the motor housing having a shaft bore and a plurality first bolt holes end of the state are having a bore opening and a plurality of second bolt holes. A centering fixture is inserted into the shaft bore of the housing and into the bore opening, the centering fixture includes a first centering device received into the shaft bore and a second centering device received into the bore opening of the stator. A locating plate is secured to the motor housing and engaged with the centering fixture. The first centering devices actuated for centering the centering fixture relative to the shaft and the second centering device is actuated for centering the state are relative to the shaft board. The plurality of bolts are tightened to secure the stator to the motor housing.

Abstract: A rotatable stator sensor device includes a stator support plate configured to support a steel stator having multiple teeth, a rotary table electrically isolated from the stator support plate, and at least two sensors on the rotary table. The at least two sensors are located within an inner circumference of the steel stator, each of the at least two sensors including two sensor legs, and a distance between the two sensor legs corresponds to a distance between two of the multiple teeth of the steel stator. The device includes a sensor rotation control module configured to rotate the at least two sensors between a first position aligned with a first set of the multiple teeth of the steel stator, and a second position aligned with a second set of the multiple teeth of the steel stator.

Abstract: A method of forming a stack of laminates for a stator includes stamping in sequence a plurality of annular stator laminates from a continuous sheet of metal. The annular stator laminates each including an interior surface with a plurality of winding teeth and an exterior surface with a plurality of circumferentially spaced radially protruding ears wherein the plurality of circumferentially spaced radially protruding ears of each adjacently formed annular stator laminate is circumferentially offset from the circumferentially spaced radially protruding ears of immediately adjacent annular stator laminates. Clocking each of the annular stator laminates a predetermined angular rotation relative to an adjacent annular stator and stacking the annular stator laminates with the circumferentially spaced radially protruding ears aligned within the stack.

Abstract: A tool insert includes first, second, and third teeth arranged on a surface of the tool insert. The first tooth is arranged at a proximal end of the tool insert surface and has an angled leading end and a first tooth height. The second tooth is spaced from the first tooth by a first distance along the surface of the tool insert and has a second tooth height greater than the first tooth height. The third tooth is spaced from the second tooth by a second distance along the surface of the tool insert and has an extending angled portion. The first tooth forms a first groove in a bore surface. The second tooth increases the depth of the first groove. The third tooth provides at least one micro-scratch to one of the first groove and the bore surface.
