1,173,050. Collapsible tyres. B. F. GOODRICH CO. 26 May, 1967, No. 24646/67. Heading B7C. A pneumatic tyre has a flexible carcass 13 of elastomer covered fabric and terminating in beads 12, the carcass being formed with a permanently set flexible fold 25 directed substantially radially towards the beads. As shown, two such folds are formed causing the tyre to collapse when deflated. The folds may vary in depth, may lie in the tread region, and more than two may be formed. When used on aircraft undercarriages, the tyre is deflated an retraction and re-inflated on lowering.
