    摘要: A method and system for de-molding golf balls having a casted layer is disclosed herein. The invention includes exerting a first lateral force against a top mold half of a mold assembly and exerting a second lateral force against a bottom mold half of the mold assembly to separate the mold assembly and de-mold the golf balls from the top mold half. Preferably, the mold assembly is used to form a thermoset polyurethane cover over a core and boundary layer. The bottom mold half may have a double tapered pin, or a retractable pin with a single taper. The method and system allow for hot de-molding of golf balls from the mold assembly.

    摘要: A replaceable mold cavity for use in the production of golf balls is disclosed herein. The mold cavity has a plastic insert with an inverse dimple pattern thereon that is formed from a plastic molding material, and a support cup in which the plastic insert is placed for the golf ball molding operation. The plastic insert may have a metal layer thereon that has an identical inverse dimple pattern. The entire replaceable mold cavity may also be composed of a plastic material. The use of plastic molding materials to form the plastic insert, or the entire mold cavity, allows for rapid production of golf balls having different dimple patterns which allows for expedited testing and introduction of new golf balls.

    摘要: A gasket assembly for interposition between a pair of axially spaced-apart interface surfaces of an internal combustion engine. The assembly includes a metal retainer member having generally planar first and second surfaces with one or more apertures formed therethrough. Each of the apertures are configured for generally coaxially registration with a corresponding fluid passageway formed through the interface surfaces of the engine as having a periphery defining a margin of an extent greater than the inner diameter of the corresponding fluid passageway. One or more generally annular seal members are each received within a corresponding one of the apertures as including a first and second radial surfaces. The radial surfaces, which define a bearing portion between interface surfaces of the engine, extend inwardly of the corresponding aperture from an outer diametric extent to an inner diametric extent which defines an opening of the assembly configured for generally coaxial registration with a corresponding one of the fluid passageways of the engine. Each of the seal members is formed of a layer of a lamellar graphite sheet material which is compressible axially in the bearing portion of the seal member between the interface surfaces for sealing about the corresponding fluid passageway of the engine.

The gasket includes a flexible metal retainer, and at least one seal element which is supported on the retainer along at least a portion of the inner or outer perimeter thereof. In a stressed state, such as under compression between two curved interface surfaces, the retainer is made to conform to curvatures of the surfaces. However, upon being removed from compression, the retainer substantially recovers to its normal state.

    摘要: A gasket assembly for interposition between a mating, mutually-opposed pair of curved surfaces. The gasket includes a resilient retainer formed of a metal material and having an inner perimeter and an outer perimeter defining an enclosed geometric shape which extends in a normal state of said gasket within a first plane to a first diametric extent along a first axis, and to a second diametric extent along a second axis disposed within said first plane generally perpendicular to said first axis. The retainer is flexible in the first and second diametric extents within one or more planes generally perpendicular to the first plane. At least one generally annular seal element is supported on the retainer to extend coaxially along at least a portion of the inner or outer perimeter thereof. Each of the seal members has oppositely-disposed first and second radial sealing surfaces configured for abutting, sealing contact with a corresponding one of the interfaces surfaces. With the gasket assembly being interposed between the interface surfaces, each of the seal elements is compressible axially. In such stressed state of the gasket assembly, and with one or more fluid-tight seals being effected between the interface surfaces, the retainer is made to curvably conform to the curvatures of the interface surfaces. However, upon being removed from compression between the interface surfaces, the gasket assembly substantially recovers to its normal state from its stressed state.
