摘要: The current that drives the motor for a slicing blade is continuously monitored to detect when it rises above a threshold level. This threshold level is related to the resistance to the rotation of the blade that is presented by a product being sliced. When this current rises above the threshold level, the slicing operation is momentarily interrupted. The threshold level is adjustable in accordance with the number of slices that is desired to be trimmed. While the slicing operation is interrupted, the first few irregular slices from the leading edge of the product can be carried away from the location of the slicing blade. Then slicing can resume with the first slice in the first full draft being a full slice.

摘要: An automotive slicing machine includes a circuit for monitoring the operation of a card dispenser during the processing of a sliced product. In one embodiment, when the monitoring circuit detects that a card dispensing operation has not been performed for two consecutive drafts of a sliced product, the slicing operation is halted until an operator attends to the problem.

摘要: A foot exfoliation device including a base tray having non-slip surface member disposed on a bottom side thereof; a continuous wall disposed on the base tray top side proximal the periphery thereof; and a trough continuously disposed on the top side inside the wall. Stacked sand paper sheets are disposed within the trough. A removable snap-on cover is disposed atop the base tray. A sand paper post member, which is centrally disposed within the trough proximal to a base tray front end, permits exfoliation between toes. An aperture, centrally disposed proximal to a forward end of each of the sand paper sheets, slidingly receives the post member therethrough. A mirror is disposed on an underside of the cover to permit inspection of the user's feet.

摘要: An article accumulator is designed for use with a robotic hand. The accumulator comprises an open frame having an endless open conveyor for receiving and transporting individual aligned rows of generally flattened articles such as frozen burger patties. A receiving section of the accumulator initially receives the flattened articles in rectilinear rows. The rows of articles are then passed to a pick section of the accumulator. Operably associated with the pick section are a repositioning system and a lifting system. The repositioning system comprises an actuator, a set of plate members with vertically extending fingers, and a stop fence. The plate members are positioned below the open conveyor so that upon programmed activation, the plate members move upwardly a sufficient distance that their fingers encompass a number of articles. The fingers ensure that the articles are properly positioned. The lifting system is also positioned below the endless open conveyor holding the articles. It comprises an actuator and a set of lift rails connected thereto. The lift actuator is programmed to lift the articles above the open conveyor after they are properly positioned. While in the elevated state, a robotic hand picks them off the lift rails and deposits them into open-top cartons for distribution.

摘要: A robotic hand on a robot is capable of picking-up several generally flattened articles in a stack form in a gentle non-damaging manner. The robotic hand has a manifold for directing controlled pressure air and a set of gripper finger assemblies extending therefrom. Each finger assembly has a rigid finger support member and an inflatable bladder extending along its length. The bladders are in communication with the chamber of the manifold and an external source of positive and negative pressure air. The robotic hand is capable of positioning itself over an article to be picked-up with the set of gripper finger assemblies encompassing the article. Pressurized air is directed through the manifold and into the bladders of the finger assemblies. The bladders expand sufficiently to grasp sides of the article. The robotic hand is moved to a position over another article wherein the bladders of the finger assemblies are deflated by drawing a vacuum through the manifold to cause the first article to drop onto the second article. Reinflating the bladders causes the gripper finger assemblies to grasp the two articles. The sequence of steps is repeated until a stack of a pre-determined number of articles is formed within the finger assemblies. The robotic hand deposits the stack into an open-top container to ultimately fill the container.

摘要: An automatic slicing machine includes a dynamic weigher for weighing slices in a draft as they are being cut. Information from the weigher is converted into a digital value and is used to control the thickness of subsequently cut slices to produce drafts at a target weight. After the cutting of a draft is completed, its weight is checked in a check weigher. The check weigher communicates the weights of individual drafts back to a programmable controller in the slicer. The controller computes a new target weight to correct any deviation of the final weight from the set point for weight control. This automatically calculated correction eliminates manual adjustment by the machine operator and assures that subsequent drafts have an acceptable weight.
