The utility blade and the pivotally movable blade are extendable from opposite ends of the handle. The utility blade edge and the pivotally movable blade edge both are exposed towards the bottom portion of the handle when the pivotally movable blade and the utility blade are in operative positions thereof so that the bottom and top portions of the handle retain their relative bottom and top orientations for use of either the utility blade or the pivotally moveable blade.

    摘要： The present invention is an apparatus for compacting ground using fluids stored in containers placed on the ground. The fluid containers may include a closely packed array of vertically aligned tubes arranged parallel to one another. Their base ends may be sealed and rest on the ground surface to be compacted. Their opposite upper ends may be either open or have a form of removable apertured lid or cap thereon to assist in filling of fluid into the containers. The closely packed array of tubes may be interlocked to one another for support and stability.

    摘要： An extracorporeal circuit for removing toxins from the blood and plasma volume control in patients suffering from sepsis and renal failure. The extracorporeal circuit disclosed herein comprises a plasma filter, a toxin removal device and optionally a hemofilter that minimizes electrolyte and protein depletion from the treated plasma while effectively removing both free and protein-bound toxins. The toxin removal device comprises adsorbent materials selected from the group consisting of activated carbon, ion exchange resins and non-ionic exchange resins and the adsorbent materials are coated with albumin. Also provided are associated methods for treating patients suffering from sepsis and renal failure using the disclosed extracorporeal circuit and toxin removal device.
