摘要: A toilet conversion kit for toilets of various shapes, the kit having a base which can stand on the floor around a soil pipe and an upper surface for supporting the toilet, and having first and second end wall profiles. An elongated axial opening extends from a point adjacent one end, for a distance along the length of the base, and can register with the soil pipe. There are a plurality of fastening openings in, the base alongside either side of the opening. A soil pipe extension separate from the base, defines a generally tubular shape having upper and lower ends, a soil pipe connection at its lower end, a toilet connection member at its upper end, and fastenings formed with the upper end of which can be fastened to the fastenings of the base. The upper end of the extensions interfits with the elongated opening in the base. In this way the soil pipe extension may be moved along the length of the opening, and fastened to the base at selected locations therealong, so that the toilet conversion kit can be used with a wide variety of a different toilet appliance designs, with one end profile of the base conforming as closely as possible to the shape of the stand of the toilet appliance.

摘要: A spacer for a flush toilet is an insert block locatable between the base of a toilet pedestal and the floor. The spacer has a passage therethrough from top to bottom constituting a soil pipe extension and located to mate with the soil pipe and the toilet outlet. Preferably the spacer comprises a series of sub-spacers to allow for raising the toilet as much or as little as necessary. Sealing lugs are provided for sealing against soil leakage. Arm rests may be provided supported at least partially on cross members located in trough passages of the sub-spacers and the arm rests may be hingable out of their "in use" position to allow easy access of a wheelchair.

摘要: A walking aid for a handicapped person having a frame with wheels and brakes, handles attached to the frame at a suitable height for a person, who is enabled to push the walking aid along a walking surface, at least one brake operating assembly including a fixed handbar portion fixed as a handgrip extension of the handles, and a moveable member movably secured to the fixed handbar portion in coaxial relation so that the moveable member may be swung relative to the axis of the fixed portion, the moveable member being normally aligned with and substantially coaxial with the fixed portion, movement of said moveable member moving it out of coaxial alignment, and the brake cable being attached between the fixed portion and the moveable member so that movement of the moveable member will cause extension of the brake cable thus retarding the walking aid. Also disclosed is a folding mechanism for a walking aid, having swing arms linked together for swinging between extended and folded positions, and a lock for securing the arms in a semi-folded position and having a seat with height adjustments supported by the swing arms.

摘要: A method of optimizing mail sorting on a envelope sorting machine by eliminating the necessity to pass some of the documents through the machine twice is provided in which a postal code table is created having an order for each of a plurality of postal code ranges. An unsorted document print stream is received and a document parameter table created to store boundaries of each of a plurality of documents and a location of a postal code in each document. An index table is constructed incorporating information from the postal code table indicating the location and order of each document in the unsorted document print stream. The index table is reordered according to the order of each document and a sorted document print stream is generated, whereby the documents are arranged in order of their respective priorities. The documents are then printed from the sorted document print stream, separated into groups in accordance with their respective priorities and sorted in order of each group's respective order.

摘要: A method and system for scanning a set of documents is disclosed. The set of documents to be scanned are in an organizational format wherein groups of the documents are separated by barriers. The method and system include displaying a set of logical entities that represent the barriers to an operator of a scanner; and associating scanned images of the documents with at least one of the logical entities. The method and system further include using the association of the logical entities to store the scanned images, such that the organizational format of the documents is retained.

摘要: An electronic catalog is provided that stores items and attributes associated with the items. One or more of the attributes may have more than one value. Items are stored in an item table with different attributes for items stored in different rows in an attribute table. Additional items may be added to a catalog by adding additional rows to the item table, with attributes related to the additional items added as rows into the attribute table. Particular attributes may have multiple values, and attributes with multiple values are associated with sub-items that correspond to different attribute trees or attribute sets associated with the item. Searching can be performed for attribute values and search results returned indicating all items and sub-items that satisfy the search criteria.
