    摘要: A photodiode detector array includes a layer of intrinsic semiconductor material having a first doped layer on a first surface of a first conductivity type and an array of photodiodes having respective doped regions on a second surface of an opposite conductivity type. Electrical contacts on the second surface respectively contact the doped regions and convey electrical signal therefrom. Conductors extend from the electrical contacts to convey the electrical signals to output terminals of the array. A scintillator is optically coupled to the layer of intrinsic semiconductor material at the first surface thereof and can be pixelated, with individual scintillator elements aligned with and corresponding to the doped regions of the photodiode. The photodiode detector array can be mounted to a rigid printed wiring board or to a flat bottom wall surface of the scintillator.

    摘要: A focal spot sensing device includes: a housing that resists x-ray beams; an opening disposed in a wall of the housing that allows an x-ray beam to enter the housing; and a sensor device disposed in the housing that interprets a position of the x-ray beam for calculating a position of a focal spot. An imaging system includes: an x-ray source that produces an x-ray beam and has a focal spot; a detector array that receives the x-ray beam and includes a focal spot sensing device, the focal spot sensing device includes: a housing that resists x-ray beams; an opening disposed in a wall of the housing that allows the x-ray beam to enter the housing; and a sensor device disposed in the housing that interprets a position of the x-ray beam for calculating a position of the focal spot. A method for sensing a focal spot, the method includes: receiving an x-ray beam into an opening of a focal spot sensing device; interpreting a position of the x-ray beam; and calculating or measuring a position of a focal spot.

    摘要: A photodiode detector assembly for use with an ionizing radiation detector, the assembly includes a first layer having a first side and a second side and an array of backlit photodiodes disposed at the second side, and a second layer disposed proximate to and opposing the second side of the first layer. The second layer includes thru vias. Light rays entering the first layer at the first side and impinging the backlit photodiodes at the second side result in electrical signals at the thru vias of the second layer, thereby providing electrical output signals from the backlit photodiodes at a distance from the backlit photodiodes.

    摘要: A radiation detector includes a scintillator layer configured to absorb radiation emitted from a radiation source and to emit optical photons in response to the absorbed radiation. The radiation detector also includes a photodetector layer configured to absorb the optical photons emitted by the scintillator layer. The radiation detector further includes a reflector configured to reflect the optical photons emitted by the scintillator layer towards the photodetector layer and to absorb select wavelengths of optical photons associated with an afterglow emitted by the scintillator layer.
