摘要: The invention relates to (1) pressure-mediated dissociation of an analyte complexed with an endogenous binding partner to enable detection of a complex formed from the analyte and an exogenous binding factor, (2) pressure-mediated association of an analyte and an exogenous binding partner to enable more rapid and/or more sensitive detection of an analyte, and (3) pressure-mediated association and dissociation of biomolecular complexes to enable separation of one biomolecule from a complex mixture. Pressure can be used to improve assays by dissociating endogenous analyte complexes and improving assay speed and sensitivity by associating the analyte molecules with exogenously supplied binding partners. Pressure can also be used to improve the separation of compounds from contaminated mixtures. Methods of assaying an analyte in a sample having an endogenous complex between the analyte and an endogenous sample component include dissociating the analyte from the endogenous component using pressure and reacting the analyte with an exogenously supplied specific binding reagent to determine complexation between the analyte and the binding reagent.

摘要: Disclosed are methods, systems, and apparatus for inflating airbags. In one embodiment, an initiator is deployed to open an exit gas port, through which the airbag is inflated. The airbag is primarily inflated via gas from a first gas chamber and is substantially maintained in an inflated state for a predetermined period of time primarily via gas from a second gas chamber. In one embodiment, an airbag inflator is provided which comprises a first gas chamber, a second gas chamber, and an intermediate chamber assembly. The intermediate chamber assembly comprises a first gas port positioned adjacent to and in fluid communication with the first gas chamber and a second gas port positioned adjacent to and in fluid communication with the second gas chamber. The inflator is configured to allow a greater flow rate of gas through the first gas port upon deployment than through the second gas port.

摘要: Disclosed are embodiments of an airbag tether release mechanism for use with airbag inflation systems. In one embodiment, the mechanism includes an initiator positioned within a housing. The initiator is configured such that it provides an inherent seal to prevent the external release of pyrotechnic residues upon deployment. The device may also include a cutter operatively connected with the initiator such that deployment of the initiator actuates the cutter and a tether restraint structure configured to secure a tether until the tether is released by actuation of the cutter.

The method generally comprises the steps of (A) generating a programming item from a plurality of parameters that define a program for the programmable logic device, (B) storing the programming item in a programming field of the file in response to generating, and (C) storing at least one of the parameters in a non-programming field of the file.

摘要: An airbag or inflatable curtain inflator for producing two differing gas flows is disposed. The inflator has a gas chamber, a first orifice, and a second orifice. The first orifice has a different effective cross-sectional area than the second orifice. The two different cross-sectional areas allow the first orifice to produce a mass flow rate of gas that is different from the second orifice. The mass flow rates of gas may be related to the volume of an inflatable curtain into which the gas is ejected. Thus, two differently sized volumes of an inflatable curtain may be simultaneously inflated with a single inflator.
