摘要: A method of binder jetting additive manufacturing for veneer applications may include, but is not limited to, loading a mixture of material into one or more feed boxes of a binder jetting additive manufacturing device, depositing a layer of the mixture of material into a working chamber of the binder jetting additive manufacturing device, applying a coating to the layer of the mixture of material, and curing the coating applied to the layer of the mixture of material to form a portion of a veneer product, actuating a working surface of the working chamber, depositing an additional layer of the mixture of material into the working chamber, applying an additional coating to the additional layer of the mixture of material, and curing the additional coating applied to the additional layer of the mixture of material to form an additional portion of the veneer product.

摘要: A method for sequencing veneer to lumbercore includes receiving a veneer grain width input and a veneer thickness input, determining a cut angle based on the veneer grain width input and the veneer thickness input, receiving a lumbercore width input and a lumbercore height input, determining a set of dimensions for a stack of lumber, and generating a template mapping the lumbercore to the stack of lumber, where the template is based on the lumbercore width input, the lumbercore height input, and the set of dimensions for the stack of lumber, where the lumbercore is rotated within the template at an angle relative to horizontal within the stack of lumber by an amount equal to the cut angle.

摘要: A flexible carbon fiber decorative veneer may include a veneer panel assembly with a face layer formed from a carbon fiber material, a backing layer formed from a flexible fleece, and an adhesive configured to attach the face layer to the backing layer through activation via at least one joining process. The backing layer may be configured to prevent light from passing through voids or interstitial spaces in the carbon fiber material of the face layer when the backing layer is attached to the face layer via the adhesive. The flexible carbon fiber decorative veneer may be configured for use on an aircraft interior structure, the base structure for which being fabricated from an aviation honeycomb layer and a back panel. The veneer panel assembly may be configured to conform to a radius of at least 0.25 inches on the aircraft interior structure.

Fabricating the veneer product may include depositing a first portion of the mixture on a working surface of the extruder, actuating the working surface, and depositing an additional portion of the mixture on the working surface of the extruder proximate to the first position of the mixture deposited on the working surface. Where the first portion of the mixture and the additional portion of the mixture form a first layer of the veneer product, fabricating the veneer product may include actuating a nozzle of the extruder and depositing an additional layer of the mixture on the first layer of the veneer product. The material may include wood product and a binder.
