    摘要: A downhole tool for use in a subterranean well having a casing therein. The downhole tool has a mandrel, a wedge, a slip bank and a pre-set mechanism. The wedge is disposed about the mandrel and in sliding relationship with the mandrel such that the wedge can slide between an unset position and a set position. The slip bank is associated with the wedge such that, when the slip wedge is in the unset position, the slip bank is in a radially inward position and does not engage the casing, and when the slip wedge is in the set position, the slip bank is in a radially outward position and engages the casing. The pre-set mechanism has a first detent ring located between the first wedge and the mandrel and positioned at least partially in a groove in the mandrel. The detent ring prevents the wedge from moving from the unset position to the set position until a load on the mandrel exceeds a predetermined force.

    摘要: A wellbore isolation device includes a wedge member that defines an outer surface and a barrel seal having a cylindrical body that provides an inner radial surface and an outer radial surface. The inner radial surface is engageable with the outer surface of the wedge member. The barrel seal further includes a plurality of longitudinally extending grooves defined through the body in an alternating configuration at opposing ends of the body. A raised lip protrudes radially from the outer radial surface and circuitously extends about a circumference of the body. A plurality of slip buttons is positioned in a corresponding plurality of holes defined in the outer radial surface of the body. At least one of the wedge member and the barrel seal is made of a degradable material that degrades when exposed to a wellbore environment.

    摘要: A wellbore isolation device is provided which includes a tubular body having an external surface and an inner bore formed longitudinally through the tubular body. The tubular body has an expanding section transitionable from an initial configuration to an expanded configuration. One or more fins project radially from the external surface of the expanding section. The fins are anchorable into surrounding surfaces when the expanding section transitions to the expanded configuration. A plugging element is positioned, after the expanding section is in the expanded configuration, to restrict fluid communication through the inner bore.

    摘要: An operation may require isolation of a wellbore using multiple barriers. A single-run multiple barrier system may be deployed in a wellbore to position a first barrier at a first depth and a second barrier at second depth above the first barrier in the wellbore during a single run of a wellbore tubular string. The first barrier is coupled to a first miming tool. A wellbore tubular string segment couples the first miming tool is coupled to the second barrier. The second barrier is coupled to a second running tool that couples to the wellbore tubular string. The second barrier is locked until the first barrier is independently set at the first depth to prevent the second barrier from being set until the second depth is reached. Setting both barriers in a single run increases efficiency in an operation including reducing costs and time for completion of the operation.

    摘要: A downhole tool held in a wellbore with a unidirectional slip and a bidirectional slip. The bi-directional slip has a slip frame and at least two slip banks. The slip frame comprises a center ring and a plurality of slats extending longitudinally uphole and downhole from the center ring and spaced radially about the center ring so as to define at least two pairs of slots. Each pair of slots has a first slot extending longitudinally uphole from the center ring and a second slot extending longitudinally downhole from the center ring. The slip banks have a first gripping bank, a second gripping bank and a groove between the first gripping bank and second gripping bank. The first gripping bank and second gripping bank each have an outer surface configured to grip the casing. The first gripping bank is slideably received in the first slot and the second gripping bank is slideably received in the second slot such that the slip bank has a set position in which the groove receives a portion of the center ring and the first gripping bank and second gripping bank extend radially outward from the slip frame so as to be able to engage the casing, and the slip bank has an unset position in which the slip bank is positioned radially inward from the set position.
