    Abstract: A system and method for configuring a plurality of access points (APs) providing service coverage to a space is described. The system determines a number of users in the space. Responsive to the number of users exceeding a predetermined threshold, the system can place the plurality of APs in a high-power mode and cause an antenna of each AP to operate in a narrow-beam mode. Responsive to the number of users being below the threshold, the system selects a subset of APs from the plurality of APs and causes an antenna of each AP in the subset to operate in a wide-beam mode. Each AP in the subset remains in the high-power mode, and the wide-beam mode has a wider radiation pattern in a horizontal plane than the narrow-beam mode. The system places the remaining APs in a power-saving mode, thereby reducing energy consumption while maintaining service coverage.

    Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, a method is provided for managing a communication channel between a first communication unit and a second communication unit in an AP. At the first communication unit, a request is transmitted to the second communication unit for reserving a communication channel. Here, the second communication unit is associated with a Wi-Fi network that is different from a network type associated with the first communication unit, and the first and second communication units share a band of the communication channel. A response for reserving the communication channel is received from the second communication unit. In accordance with a determination that the response indicates the communication channel has been reserved for a time duration, data is transmitted at the first communication unit within the time duration on the communication channel. Therefore, conflicts between the first and second communication units in the AP may be reduced.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to automatic antenna beam alignment. A method comprises determining first position-related information indicating a first location and a first orientation of a first communication device. The first communication device comprises a plurality of antenna sectors configured for generating respective directional beams. The method also comprises receiving, from a second communication device, second position-related information indicating a second location and a second orientation of the second communication device. The method also further comprises selecting a subset of the plurality of antenna sectors based on the first and the second position-related information; and causing the first communication device to perform beamforming training with the second communication device using the selected subset of antenna sectors. A decreased number of antenna sectors are scanned during the beamforming training, which can reduce the time overhead and facilitate the devices to find the best beam efficiently.

    Abstract: In implementations of the present disclosure, a power compensation determination for radio frequency cable mechanism is provided. An access point (AP) determines a time slot for an RF cable loss measurement on an RF cable, and transmits a test signal with a first TX power to an antenna module over the RF cable. The AP further obtains a second TX power transmitted by the antenna module, and determines an RF cable loss based on the first TX power and the second TX power. The AP further determines power compensation for the RF cable based on the determined RF cable loss, the first TX power and an antenna gain of the antenna module. The AP transmits signals on the RF cable to the antenna module based on the determined power compensation. Implementations of the present disclosure can determine the power compensation based on the RF cable loss automatically.

    Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure relate to a method for decoding error correction. The method comprises detecting a failure of decoding a received frame. After the failure of decoding the received frame is detected, a type of the received frame is determined based on a probability that the received frame follows a prior frame of the received frame in a frame sequence. The method further comprises obtaining a template corresponding to the type of the received frame, and decoding the received frame based on the fixed values in the template. The template includes fixed values corresponding to the type of the received frame. With these implementations, correction ability of the decoding can be obviously improved with assistance of the constructed template.

    Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure relate to an electronic device with a pluggable front end module.     Abstract: An example method for selectively filtering Wi-Fi signals is presented. A first radio and a second radio of a wireless networking device (WND) are respectively operated on a first channel and a second channel. The first channel and the second channel are respectively within a first sub-band of a first frequency band and second sub-band of a second frequency band. A control unit of the WND may select one of a first filter or a second filter based on the first channel, and one of a third filter or a fourth filter based on the second channel. After the filters are selected, signals over the first channel are communicated through a selected one of the first filter or the second filter, and signals over the second channel are communicated through a selected one of the third filter or the fourth filter.
