摘要: The present disclosure is drawn to privacy films for electronic displays. In one example, a privacy film for an electronic display can include a louver film. The louver film can include: a plurality of high refractive index slats with a refractive index of about 1.5 to about 3 and having a trapezoidal cross section narrowing toward a viewer side of the louver film; and a plurality of low refractive index slats between the high refractive index slats, having a refractive index less than the refractive index of the high refractive index slats by about 0.1 to about 2. An electrophoretic ink can be optically associated with the low refractive index slats, including opaque particles that are electrically mobile to cause modification of light transmission therethrough. A first and second transparent electrode film can be on a viewer side and a rear side of the electrophoretic ink, respectively.

摘要: An example of an apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a display portion and a camera. In addition, the apparatus includes a thin film transistor substrate extending over the display portion and the camera. Furthermore, the apparatus includes an image generation layer disposed under the thin film transistor substrate within the display portion. Also, the apparatus includes a polymer dispersed liquid crystal disposed between the thin film transistor substrate and the camera. The polymer dispersed liquid crystal is to be switched between an opaque state and a clear state. The opaque state is to block the camera from receiving imaging light. The clear state allows light to pass through the polymer dispersed liquid crystal.

摘要: According to an example, a display having a display surface may comprise a backlight, a collimator, and a scattering layer. The backlight may emit light towards the display surface, the light being narrowed by the collimator. The collimator may be located between the display surface and the backlight and the scattering layer may be between the display surface and the collimator. The scattering layer may be selectively operable between a diffuse state in which light traveling through the scattering layer is scattered and a non-diffuse state in which the direction of travel of the light traveling through the scattering layer is substantially unaffected.

摘要: The present disclosure is drawn to privacy films for electronic displays. In one example, a privacy film for an electronic display can include a louver film. The louver film can include: a plurality of high refractive index slats with a refractive index of about 1.5 to about 3 and having a trapezoidal cross section narrowing toward a viewer side of the louver film; and a plurality of low refractive index slats between the high refractive index slats, having a refractive index less than the refractive index of the high refractive index slats by about 0.1 to about 2. An electrophoretic ink can be optically associated with the low refractive index slats, including opaque particles that are electrically mobile to cause modification of light transmission therethrough. A first and second transparent electrode film can be on a viewer side and a rear side of the electrophoretic ink, respectively.
