    Abstract: A printable recording media containing and a coating layer including an acrylic resin latex binder; and a mixture of: about 10 to about 90 wt % of a first pigment including precipitated calcium carbonate particles, about 5 to about 60 wt % of a second pigment having a larger size and a different shape than the first pigment particles, and about 1 to about 50 wt % of a third pigment having a surface area of at least 50 m2/gram, wherein the weight percentages are by combined weight of the first, second and third pigments by total dry weight of the coating layer. Also described herein are a method for making said printable recording media and a method for producing printed images using the recording media.

    Abstract: The present disclosure is drawn to coated print media, methods of making coated print media, and methods of printing. In one example, a coated print medium can include a substrate, a base coating layer on the substrate, and a top coating layer on the base coating layer. The base coating layer can include an inorganic pigment, a binder, and a fixing agent. The top coating layer can include polyvinyl alcohol and polymer nanobeads having a gloss transition temperature from 70° C. to 350° C. The polyvinyl alcohol and polymer nanobeads can be included at from 50 wt % to 100 wt % by dry weight of the top coating layer.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an inkjet printing process that comprises applying a radiation-curable primer composition onto a substrate to form a primer layer. The primer composition comprises a curable polyurethane dispersion, a photoinitiator and water. An inkjet ink composition is inkjet printed onto the primer layer as a printed inkjet ink layer. The inkjet ink composition comprises a colorant, a curable polyurethane dispersion, a photoinitiator and water. The curable polyurethane is dispersed in the inkjet ink composition in an amount of composition is 0.1 to 30 weight % of the inkjet ink composition. The printed inkjet ink layer is cured on the substrate by exposing both the primer layer and printed inkjet ink layer on the substrate to radiation.

    Abstract: The present disclosure is drawn to coating compositions that can include an inorganic pigment, a non-ionic surfactant, latex particles, a polyvinyl alcohol, and a cationic fixing agent. The inorganic pigment can be included in an amount from 60 wt % to 90 wt % by dry weight. The latex particles can include a styrene-butadiene copolymer, and can be present in an amount of 4 wt % to less than 10 wt % by dry weight.     Abstract: An example of a printable recording medium includes a base substrate, a first ink-receiving layer, and a second ink-receiving layer. The first ink-receiving layer includes a first inorganic pigment in an amount equal to or greater than 70 wt % and a first ink-fixing agent in an amount ranging from about 3 wt % to about 10 wt % based on a total wt % of the first ink-receiving layer. The second ink-receiving layer includes a second inorganic pigment. Both the first ink-receiving layer and the second ink-receiving layer exclude precipitated calcium carbonate.
