摘要: A system and method of patient bed communication and bed-to-room association in a healthcare facility having a network with at least one wireless access point (WAP) and a nurse call system is provided. A handheld unit is moved to a position within a pairing distance of a pairing zone of a patient bed so that the handheld unit and the bed are paired using a first wireless communication technology. A second wireless communication technology is used to send bed identification data (ID) to the handheld unit after the pairing operation has been completed. The bed ID is transmitted from the handheld unit to the nurse call system via a wired connection to establish a bed-to-room association between the patient bed and a room in which the patient bed is located. A third wireless communication technology is used to send bed status data and the bed ID to the WAP of the network.

摘要: An apparatus, system or method includes a patient bed for use with a network including a remote computer. The patient bed includes a bed frame to support a patient and bed circuitry carried by the bed frame. The bed circuitry is configured to receive a new version of bed operating software from the remote computer. The bed circuitry includes a first memory bank and a second memory bank. One of the first and second memory banks stores therein a current version of bed operating software. The other of the first and second memory banks stores therein the new version of bed operating software received from the remote computer. Thus, two versions of bed operating software are stored in the bed circuitry. A memory toggle is used to determine which version of the operating software in which of the two memory banks is used to operate the bed.

摘要: A method to be performed by a processor of a first computing device includes detecting one or more computing devices remote from the first computing device, establishing a peer-to-peer connection with a second computing device from among the one or more computing devices, comparing a first version of a software program installed on the first computing device to a second version of the software program installed on the second computing device, and upon determination that the second version of the software program is more recent than the first version of the software program, receiving second installation software associated with the second version of the software program and executing the second installation software to install the second version of the software program onto the first computing device.

摘要: A patient bed may include a tag reader that may be connected to antennas on opposite sides of the patient bed. The patient bed may also include circuitry configured to produce, with the tag reader and the antennas, an interrogation signal from the opposite sides of the patient bed, to cause a location tag that may be mounted to a doorway of a room to produce a response signal. The circuitry may also be configured to receive, with the tag reader and with one of the antennas, the response signal from the location tag. Additionally, the circuitry may be configured to determine, as a function of room data in the response signal, a present location of the patient bed.
