Abstract:
A system and method for textually displaying weather data on an onboard aircraft display comprises receiving weather data from onboard weather radar. A data collector is coupled to the weather radar and collects relevant data, which is then manipulated to place it in a PIREP (pilot report) format. The formatted data is then rendered on the aircraft display and subsequently transmitted to a ground station.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for graphically displaying airspace data including speed restrictions on an aircraft display. The system comprises an avionics display system coupled to a processor that is configured to retrieve airspace data from a database, display the aircraft data on the display, and display a visual representation of the airspace. Then the processor may alter the format of the visual representation of the airspace to a second visual representation, if the airspace data meets predetermined criteria.
Abstract:
A method of managing a license for a software module of a vehicle having a plurality of operating states includes receiving, by a processor, license term data of the license. The license term data includes an expiration time limit of the license. The method also includes observing, by a sensor, a condition of the vehicle. Additionally, the method includes determining, by the processor, an operating state of the vehicle based on the condition observed by the sensor. Furthermore, the method includes determining, by the processor, whether to deny access to the software module according to the expiration time limit based on the determined operating state.

Abstract:
A system and method are providing for providing an aircraft with adequate clearance over an obstacle in the aircraft's takeoff departure path. The correct rate-of-climb to clear the obstacle is determined in a processor; for example a TOLD system. The result is then rendered on a display for viewing prior to takeoff.
