Abstract: Avionic display systems and methods are provided for generating avionic displays, which include symbology and other graphics pertaining to forecast overpressure events, which are forecast to occur during supersonic aircraft flight. In various embodiments, the avionic display system includes a display device on which an avionic display is produced. A controller architecture is operably coupled to the display device. Storage media contains computer-readable code or instructions that, when executed by the controller architecture, cause the avionic display system to determine whether an overpressure event is forecast to occur due to the predicted future occurrence of a sonic boom, which has a magnitude exceeding a boom tolerance threshold. When the controller architecture determines that an overpressure event is forecast to occur, the avionic display system further generates symbology on the avionic display indicative of or visually signifying the forecast overpressure event.

Abstract: A system method for providing aircraft lateral navigation system capability feedback to a pilot includes determining, in a processor, when a flight plan has been received that includes a flight leg that needs to be captured by the aircraft. A determination is made, in the processor, when an armed signal has been received, where the armed signal indicating that an aircraft autopilot navigation mode (NAV) has been armed. The processor is used to command a display device to render the flight leg using a first display paradigm when the armed signal has not been received, and to render the flight leg using a second display paradigm when the armed signal has been received.

Abstract: A system and method are provided that improve upon existing aircraft display systems by generating and updating an overrun image that may be overlaid on a variety of panoramic and landscape images on a display device. The overrun image displays stopping locations for all relevant available stopping devices, as determined from the far end of the selected runway. In addition, the aircraft display system determines an advisory zone on the selected runway and presents limited symbols and images in and near the advisory zone that indicate distances and relevant information.
