Abstract: This application provides a congestion control method and a network device. The method includes: receiving a first message sent by a second network device, where the first message carries an active flow quantity, and the active flow quantity is a quantity determined by the second network device based on a data flow to which data packets received from a first network device belong; determining, based on the active flow quantity and rated receiving bandwidth of the second network device, packet sending control information used to send the data flow to the second network device; and sending the data flow to the second network device based on the packet sending control information. This application can better control congestion, thereby reducing network packet loss.

Abstract: A congestion control processing method uses a two-level scheduling manner of a forwarding device and a destination device, where the network device of a data center network performs coarse-grained bandwidth allocation based on weights of flows destined for different destination devices. The network device allocates each flow a bandwidth that does not cause congestion, and notifies the destination device. The destination device performs fine-grained division, determines a maximum sending rate for each flow, and notifies a packet sending device of the maximum sending rate.

Abstract: The method includes a first network device receives a first packet of a first group of data packets from a second network device, and increases a current quantity of active flows by 1, to obtain a first quantity of active flows, the first network device receives a last packet of the first group of data packets sent by the second network device, and determines a first congestion value based on a second quantity of data packets that carry an explicit congestion notification (ECN) identifier in the first group of data packets, and when the first congestion value is less than a congestion threshold, the first network device decreases the first quantity of active flows by 1, to obtain a third quantity of active flows, or when the first congestion value is greater than or equal to the congestion threshold, the first network device keeps the first quantity of active flows unchanged.

Abstract: This application provides a congestion control method, a network device, and a network interface controller. In the congestion control method performed by a first intermediate device, the first intermediate device receives a first data packet sent by a sending device, sends the first data packet to a receiving device along a first path, receives a first acknowledgment packet that is sent by the receiving device and that is used for acknowledging the first data packet, and determines a congestion degree of the first path based on a congestion mark in the first acknowledgment packet. The first intermediate device changes a window value and sends the changed first acknowledgment packet to the sending device. According to a solution provided in this application, a speed of transmitting a data packet is adjusted based on a congestion degree of a communication path and a quantity of bytes of the data packet.

Abstract: The present application disclose a method for implementing congestion control. The method includes: obtaining congestion control information of a first network device, where the congestion control information includes a total bandwidth of a first egress port of the first network device and a quantity of active flows corresponding to a first queue of the first egress port; and determining a sending rate of a first data flow in the active flows based on the congestion control information, where the sending rate is positively related to the total bandwidth and negatively related to the quantity of active flows, and the sending rate is used by a sending device of the first data flow to send the first data flow.
