A cubic boron nitride-containing high-density inorganic composite is prepared by mixing cubic boron nitride with a powdered inorganic compound capable of forming a rigid sintered article having a density of at least 85% and a Vickers hardness of at least 800, which does not promote the conversion of cubic boron nitride into graphite-type phase boron nitride (hBN). The powder mixture is compressed into a mold, and fired at low pressure of between 1,000-2,000 MPa, at a temperature of not more than 1,500.degree. C., under which conditions the cubic boron nitride does not convert to hBN, but is sufficiently metastable to permit the formation of the high-density inorganic composite.

An eye movement measurement apparatus 1 measures movement of a cornea 101 by imaging a corneal reflection light image L2 generated as a result of irradiating the cornea 101 with infrared light L1. The eye movement measurement apparatus 1 includes: an imaging section 5 having a sensor section 51 including a plurality of pixels arrayed two-dimensionally, for generating imaging data including the corneal reflection light image L2 made incident on the sensor section 51; a bright spot position operation section 6 that calculates a position of the corneal reflection light image L2 in the imaging data; and a tremor signal operation section 7 that generates a third data string indicating a tremor component included in movement of the cornea 101 by calculating a difference between a first data string concerning temporal changes in position of the corneal reflection light image L2 and a second data string obtained by smoothing the first data string. Accordingly, an eye movement measurement apparatus capable of accurately detecting a tremor component is realized.

A method of production of conductive particles able to suppress growth of the conductive particles at the firing stage, able to effectively prevent spheroidization and electrode disconnection, able to effectively suppress a drop in electrostatic capacity, and able to efficiently produce core particles covered by thin coating layers without abnormal segregation of the coating layer metal particularly even when the internal electrode layers are reduced in thickness. A method of producing conductive particles comprising cores 51 having nickel as their main ingredients and coating layers 52 covering their surroundings. A core powder, a water-soluble metal salt containing a metal or alloy forming the coating layers 52, and a surfactant (or water-soluble polymer compound) are mixed to deposite by reduction a metal or alloy for forming the coating layers 52 on the outer surfaces of the core powder. The metal or alloy forming the coating layers 52 has at least one type of elements selected from Ru, Rh, Re, and Pt as a main ingredient.

In a printer of the invention, a plurality of head units each including a line thermal head having heat-generating elements arranged in a direction orthogonal to a conveying direction of a recording paper are arranged in the conveying direction of the recording paper. The head unit has an angle-adjusting mechanism that adjusts the angle between the conveying direction of the recording paper, and the arranging direction of the heat-generating elements, and a position-adjusting mechanism that slidingly moves thermal head in the arranging direction of the heat-generating elements. An angle-adjusting screw of the angle-adjusting mechanism and a position-adjusting screw of the position-adjusting mechanism are disposed at an external surface of the head unit, which is orthogonal to the line thermal head.
