    摘要: A display device for selectively displaying any one of 2D and 3D images with a capacity of displaying the 3D image with the same resolution as that of the 2D image. The display device includes a light source radiating white colored light, and an image display unit receiving the light from the light source to display the desired images. A beam splitter is placed between the light source and the image display unit to split the light radiated from the light source in the directions of left and right eyes of the user, and feed the split light rays to the image display unit. An optical shutter is provided at any one of front and rear surfaces of the beam splitter. The optical shutter has a plurality of shutter members with variable light transmittance to control the light transmission such that at least one of the two-directional light rays split at the beam splitter reaches the user.

    摘要: A stereoscopic image display device displays a stereoscopic image by generating stereoscopic image data based on 3D graphics data. The stereoscopic image display device includes a display unit for displaying an image, a driver, and a controller. The controller receives a synchronization signal, the 3D graphics data, and a user selection parameter for modifying a stereoscopic effect level, and outputs a control signal based on the synchronization signal and a stereoscopic image data signal, which is generated by combining left eye image data and right eye image data generated through performing matrix operations on the 3D graphics data and the user selection parameter, to the driver. The driver drives the display unit based on the control signal and the stereoscopic image data signal to display the stereoscopic image on the display unit.

    摘要: A system and method for driving a stereoscopic image display device includes, during a first period wherein no image is displayed, writing a first data signal corresponding to a first image on a first display cell and writing a second data signal corresponding to a second image on the second display cell. During a second period, the first image and the second image are displayed by driving the barrier to become a first format. During a third period in which no image is displayed, the second data signal is written on the first display cell and the first data signal is written on the second display cell. During a fourth period, the first and second images are displayed by driving the barrier to become a second format. The barrier intercepts and transmits light at different angles in the first format than in the second format.
