摘要: A hydrostatic transmission mountable to a vehicle frame. The hydrostatic transmission is adapted to removeably receive an axle shaft. The hydrostatic transmission is also adapted to be mounted to at least one of two opposed side members of the vehicle frame. The opposed side members have openings through which the axel shaft passes. The vehicle may be a snow thrower.

摘要: A hydrostatic transmission may be placed in a free-wheeling state by rotating a bypass actuator that lifts the motor from a motor running surface whereby hydraulic fluid flows into a transmission cavity. A bypass arm connected to the bypass actuator and to a bypass rod may be used to engage and disengage the bypass actuator via operation of the rod. Further, a bypass latch may be used to lock the bypass arm in an engaged position whereby the bypass actuator is engaged and the transmission is disengaged. The bypass latch arm is preferably linked to the brake pedal whereby actuation of the brake pedal disengages the bypass actuator through operation of the latching arm. The system may be designed to provide dynamic braking through transmission resistivity prior to application of a brake force to the axles or wheels by unlatching the bypass arm prior to actuating the brake arm.

摘要: A hydrostatic transmission design incorporating a unique housing shape and configuration, including a vertical split of the two casing elements, which are shaped to conform to the internal components of the transmission. The center section of the transmission has a unique configuration including a trunnion mounted swash plate, means for mounting the center section to the transmission and a motor output shaft mounted below the pump running surface. The transmission also includes an expansion chamber, preferably secured externally to the sump, having a tube mounted therein to transfer hydraulic fluid between the chamber and the sump.

摘要: A charge pump design for a hydraulic drive apparatus such as a hydrostatic transmission, integrated hydrostatic transaxle or pump having a rotatable pump cylinder block mounted in a sump and connected to a hydraulic circuit by means of a center section or the like. A fluid gallery for charge fluid is in communication with the hydraulic circuit and the charge pump is mounted adjacent to and is driven by the pump cylinder block to provide hydraulic fluid from the sump to the fluid gallery. The charge pump can be of many different styles such as a gerotor, a centrifugal pump or a flexible impeller style.

摘要: A vehicle is described having a transmission driven through a propulsion unit such as an engine, and through a CVT. The transmission is comprised of an input shaft and an output shaft which are coaxially disposed. An idler shaft is driven by the input shaft, and the idler shaft drives the output shaft, through selected gear sets, to provide different gear ratios or drive directions. The CVT also has a fan on the driven side which feeds air through the CVT for cooling. The CVT comprises a drive side clutch and a driven side clutch with the output shaft of the extending through the CVT driven clutch.
