    摘要: A yarn traverse apparatus and method are disclosed for winding a running yarn onto a rotating package, and wherein at each end portion of the traverse stroke there is provided a guide rail, and a pair of oppositely rotating arms mounted for rotation about closely adjacent parallel, or coaxial axes. One arm moves the yarn along the guide rail and toward the end of the stroke, and the other arm returns the yarn toward the center of the stroke. The guide rail and/or the arms include means for guiding the yarn adjacent each of the ends of the stroke such that the yarn is free to rebound a short distance toward the center of the stroke, and is then restrained in such movement, and so that proper engagement of the yarn by the extremity of the arm moving into the traverse stroke is assured.

    摘要: A winding apparatus is disclosed which includes a rotatable revolver having a pair of spindles mounted thereon, with the spindles being adapted to coaxially mount one or more bobbin tubes. Upon rotation of the revolver, the spindles are moved between a winding position and a doffing position, and a traversing mechanism is provided for traversing an advancing yarn and so as to form a cross wound package on the tubes at the winding position. Means are also provided for automatically transferring the advancing yarn from the rotating full package which has been moved to the doffing position, to a rotating empty bobbin tube on a spindle which has been moved to the winding position, and which comprises a yarn lifting device for removing the advancing yarn from the traversing means and conveying the advancing yarn laterally to a yarn catching plane, and a yarn transferring mechanism which laterally deflects the yarn from the yarn catching plane to a bead plane which is within the normal traverse stroke.

    摘要: A method and apparatus is disclosed for producing a spun yarn composed of an inner substantially untwisted core having fibers spirally wrapped about the surface thereof. In a specifically illustrated embodiment, a yarn of staple fibers is advanced along a path of travel, while being laterally deflected by contact with each of three separate rotating discs, and so as to produce a rotating balloon which serves to open the yarn and loosen and separate fibers on the surface of the yarn. Subsequently, the advancing yarn is subjected to a false twisting operation, which serves to wrap the loosened fibers about the advancing yarn.

    摘要: An improved peripheral drive device for winding synthetic fibers wherein at least two turnably borne tension mandrel shafts for the reception of bobbin spools are mounted on a bobbin revolver. A servo motor is located on the rear side of the bobbin revolver and is initially positioned in axial alignment with the tension mandrel shaft having an empty bobbin spool mounted thereon which is waiting to be revolved into an operational position in which the fiber is transferred to it and the winding of the fiber upon it begins. The improvement relates to a swing lever fastened at one end of the servo motor and mounted at its other end for rotation during the bobbin changing operation about the axis of rotation of the bobbin revolver. The shaft end of the servo motor is adapted to drivingly engage the rear end of the tension mandrel shafts and a means is provided for axially shifting the servo motor shaft into engagement with the tension mandrel having an empty bobbin spool mounted thereon when this mandrel shaft is in its waiting position and for uncoupling said servo motor shaft when this mandrel shaft has been brought into its operating position by the bobbin revolver.

    摘要: Apparatus for the loss-free winding of a continuously supplied thread to winding packages at a high winding speed, in which the thread is wound with transverse motion with loss-free transfer of the thread from a nearly wound bobbin to an empty bobbin on a chuck of a bobbin revolver. Loss-free thread transfer is attained by an auxiliary thread guide with a guide edge slanted laterally and outwardly relative to the traverse triangle and terminating in a thread catching eye. The auxiliary thread guide catches the thread in the traverse triangle when moved into the plane thereof, after which the guide is pivoted outwardly and downwardly into a zone where the thread is caught by thread catching means on the empty bobbin or its chuck. The downwardly extending thread loop runs over a mandrel having a bi-conical midportion and a radial arm shiftable laterally along one conical surface in the axial direction of the mandrel. The mandrel functions to initially restrain the thread against movement into the range of the traverse guide to wind a transfer tail on the empty bobbin.

    摘要: A method and apparatus is disclosed for serially winding a high speed running yarn onto bobbins without yarn stoppage between bobbin changes, and without loss of yarn. The method and apparatus includes at least two bobbin receiving chucks which are adapted to be serially delivered to a winding position. When the first bobbin becomes full, it moves laterally away from the yarn traverse guide, and the chuck with an empty bobbin and an associated yarn catching notch is moved into the yarn path of travel while being rotated, and with the notch being positioned axially outside the yarn traverse stroke along the empty bobbin. The separated full bobbin, which continues to receive the yarn, is then moved axially so that an end portion is aligned with the plane of the yarn catching notch on the empty bobbin. An auxiliary yarn guide is then moved to engage the yarn and terminate its traverse. The auxiliary guide then moves the yarn into the plane of the yarn catching notch, and so that the yarn is wound on the axially extended end portion of the full bobbin, until the notch catches the yarn, at which point the yarn commences to be wound upon the rotating empty bobbin. The auxiliary yarn guide then releases the yarn so that it is caught and again traversed by the traverse guide.
