    摘要: A light-guide plate (LGP) includes a light-incident surface, a light-facing surface, a light-emitting surface and a light-reflecting surface. The light-incident surface receives light. The light-facing surface has a smaller size than that of the light-incident surface. The light-facing surface faces the light-incident surface. The light-emitting surface is extended substantially perpendicular to the upper side of the light-incident surface. The light-emitting surface is connected to the upper edge of the light-facing surface. The light-reflecting surface has a plurality of first prism patterns that are formed parallel with the light-incident surface. The light-reflecting surface is extended from the base of the light-incident surface to be connected to the base of the light-facing surface. Therefore, a leakage of light that exits from the wedge-type LGP through a side surface of the wedge-type LGP is decreased, so that luminance is enhanced.

The convex lens plate includes a first light incident surface into which light is incident and a first light-exiting surface disposed opposite the first light incident surface and on which a convex tens pattern is formed. The microlens sheet is disposed on the first light-exiting surface, and includes a microlens pattern. The adhesion element is disposed between the convex lens plate and the microlens sheet to combine the convex lens plate with the microlens sheet. The convex tens pattern includes a plurality of convex in lenses having a stripe shape extending lengthwise along the convex lens plate.

    摘要: A fluorescent lamp with a lengthened lifetime that emits a reduced amount of ultraviolet light is presented. The lamp includes a discharge tube, a plurality of discharge electrodes and a discharge gas. The discharge tube is made of a material containing titanium oxide, and a fluorescent layer is deposited on an inner surface of the discharge tube. The discharge electrodes are made of a material containing a nickel-niobium alloy. The discharge electrodes are on end portions of the discharge tube, respectively. The discharge gas is in the discharge tube. A backlight assembly and a display device made with such fluorescent lamp is also presented.

    摘要: In a backlight assembly and an LCD apparatus having the same, the backlight assembly includes a lamp that generates light and a light guiding plate. The light guiding plate includes a light incident surface, a light reflecting surface and a light exiting surface. The light generated from the lamp is incident into the light incident surface. The light reflecting surface is extended from a side of the light incident surface. The light reflecting surface has a prism pattern. The light exiting surface is extended from another side of the light incident surface. An angle formed between the light incident surface and the light exiting surface is smaller than about 90 degrees, and the light incident surface and the light reflecting surface face each other.

The annealing method includes disposing the protection sheet in a chamber and injecting high-pressure carbon dioxide (CO2) gas into the chamber or heating the protection sheet at a predetermined temperature in the chamber. In the annealing method a crystalline phase of molecules in the protection sheet is changed to be an amorphous phase of molecules by such that the protection sheet has a refractive index with substantially the same distribution.
