    摘要: A backlight assembly that is adapted for use with an image displaying flat panel includes a light guide plate assembly and one or more light sources disposed under the light guide plate assembly. An upper portion of the light guide plate assembly is overlapped by a display area of the flat panel while a lower portion is disposed under the upper portion, and includes light guiding material for redirecting sourced light as well as reflectors for also redirecting light sourced from small, light sourcing areas underneath the upper portion for redistribution into the larger area of light guiding material provided in the upper portion of the light guide plate assembly. The upper portion also has one or more light reflectors. In one embodiment, opposed ones of light sources are angled so they don't shine light directly into one another.

    摘要: An optical member that lends itself to be more cost-effectively manufactured than a conventional optical member is presented. A display device made with the optical member can be thinner than the conventional optical member. The optical member includes a light-incident face that receives light emitted from a lamp positioned at a side of the optical member, a light-exiting face that is in a plane perpendicular to the light-incident face, and a light reflecting face opposite to the light-exiting face. A light-concentrating pattern having a plurality of concentric circles is formed on the light-exiting face. The light-concentrating pattern may be the Fresnel lens pattern. A diffusing pattern for diffusing the light is formed on the light reflecting face. Since patterns are formed on the optical member, additional optical sheet such as a prism sheet, a reflective polarizing sheet, a diffusion sheet, etc., is unnecessary.

    摘要: A diffusion plate having a multi-layered structure, a backlight assembly having the diffusion plate, and a display device having the diffusion plate are presented. The diffusion plate includes a lower skin layer, a core layer, and an upper skin layer. The lower skin layer modulates and mixes light. The core layer is on the lower skin layer to diffuse the light that has passed through the lower skin layer. The upper skin layer is on the core layer. The upper skin layer has a prism patterned on a surface. Therefore, the number of optical sheets is decreased, and luminance uniformity is improved.
