摘要: A method of manufacturing a honeycomb structure having a plugged portion, which is faster and cheaper to manufacture, and a manufacturing apparatus thereof. A film is attached to an end face of a honeycomb structure in a state where the honeycomb structure is positioned in a table portion having a through hole into which the end face portion of the honeycomb structure is to be inserted, and the film is held in a flat state where a remaining portion of the film which is not attached to the end face is attached to the table portion. Then, holes opened so as to correspond to the openings of a part of cells are formed in the film to form the film as a mask, and a plugging material having fluidity is supplied onto the mask or onto the same plane as the mask to fill the cells with the plugging material.

摘要: A method for producing a formed body including the steps of introducing a fluid material supplied from two or more material supply holes of a rectification plate into a drawing die, homogenizing the flow rate distribution of the fluid material in the drawing die using one or more wires stretched from the material supply holes to near the exit section of the drawing die, and extruding the fluid material from the exit section of the drawing die in which a prescribed forming pattern is formed by two or more wires. The wires form hollow holes through the formed body.

摘要: There is disclosed a die for forming a honeycomb structure, which realizes a sophisticated formability and which is superior in resistance to wear. A die for forming the honeycomb structure is provided with a die base having two surfaces, one surface is provided with slits of a honeycomb shape, and the other surface is provided with back holes which introduce a forming material therethrough. This die base includes: a die precursor which is obtained by stacking and bonding a first member which is one surface of the die base and is made of a tungsten carbide-based super hard alloy containing at least tungsten carbide, and a second member which is the other surface of the die base and is made of a metal material capable of causing at least one of three phase transformations of martensite transformation, bainite transformation, and pearlite transformation by cooling of an austenite phase together. Tensile and compressive stresses in a mutually bonded surface of the two plate-like members are 1000 MPa or less.

摘要: An image data compression device includes: a quantization section which quantizes image data based on a quantization parameter; a FIFO buffer section in which quantized data for at least N frames (N is an integer larger than one) is buffered; an encoded data generation section which reads the quantized data from the FIFO buffer section, and generates encoded data; a rate control section which changes a quantization step by using a data size of the encoded data; and a frame skip section which skips a quantization processing of the quantization section. The rate control section calculates the quantization parameter by using an average data size of the encoded data for previous N frames, and the frame skip section performs the skip processing when a frame in which the quantization parameter is greater than a threshold continues equal to or more than a number of times for a number threshold.

摘要: A plugged honeycomb structure including particulate matter (PM) trapping layers disposed on the surfaces of the partition walls extending up to inflow side end faces of the plugging portions that plug outflow cells so that adjacent PM-trapping layers with the partition walls and the plugging portion therebetween are disposed so as to continue on the inflow side end faces of the plugging portions. The PM-trapping layers are extended up to the inflow side end faces of the plugging portions to form protruding portions having a protrusion height corresponding with 0.1 to 2 times the length of a side of the outflow cells from the inflow side end faces of the plugging portions toward the outside of the cell extension direction.
