摘要: An apparatus and method for page-retrieval for use with an electronic display, especially suited for so-called electronic books, wherein a current relative position of a current page of the book and the number of times a page has previously been displayed are graphically displayed. A document image is stored in a document image storage unit and the document image is displayed on a computer screen. A number of display times storage unit stores the number of times each page has been viewed by a user. A relative location image control unit determines the relative location within the book image of a currently displayed page and the electronic book is displayed on the screen showing a visual indication of the relative position of the currently displayed page. The pages of the electronic book are color shaded by a number of display times image generation unit to give a visual indication of the relative number of times each page has been displayed to allow frequently displayed pages to be quickly located by a user. A marker can also be displayed on the screen to indicate pages marked by a user.

摘要: A menu display device for indicating a relationship between a series of linked menu items that are listed in separate menus and displayed sequentially on a display screen to be selected by a cursor is disclosed. The plurality of menus are appropriately stored, and each menu item has a design for identifying their respective menu items. The menu items are connected so as to form a linked structure of the menus, and the linkage is also stored. A menu item display control unit is provided for retrieving the next menu, which is related to a selected menu item and for having that retrieved menu displayed by the display screen. A marker design generation unit can generate a new design, which includes at least a portion of the design for the menu item that was selected in the previous menu to thereby indicate, by the appearance of the cursor, a path through the linked menus.

摘要: A vibration-absorbing tube includes a bellows composed of a thin metal and a fiber braid reinforcement covering the bellows. The outer face of the bellows is covered (filled) with a buffer material, or rubber, from the bottom of troughs of the bellows to a height that is 0.5 to 2.0 times the height of ridges of the bellows, and the fiber braid reinforcement has a braided angle of 30° to 50°, preferably, of 35° to 45°. Gaps in the fiber braid reinforcement may be impregnated with a curable resin or rubber.

摘要: A coating system selecting kinds of coating heads and operation sequences with no errors even when two or more kinds of coating heads are used in exchange in a single coating line. The coating system uses an automatic discriminating device which automatically discriminates at least kinds of a plurality of coating heads used in exchange in a single coating line, thereby discriminating the kind of the coating head which is set in the coating line.

摘要: This invention relates to a facsimile apparatus for implementing an automatic transmission of a meaningful response to a document received from the facsimile apparatus on the other terminal of a communication line. Thereby, the addresser of the document will be notified of the receipt of the document or a receiving condition of the addressee when the transmission of the response is postponed. Further the immediate answer to the document will be received by the addresser of the document. The facsimile apparatus comprises a mode conversion unit for converting its mode from the reception operation into the transmission operation and vise versa upon completion of the reception and completion of the transmission respectively; therefore the transmission/reception of the document and the response will be conducted at the signal communication.
