A PC to which such a voice data recording and reproducing apparatus can be connected acquires header information stored in the data table, and, when the changing of the header information is designated, sends the changed header information to the voice data recording and reproducing apparatus. Based upon the sent header information, the system control portion of the voice recording and reproducing apparatus rewrites the header information in the data table.
