A write data compensation system compensates original write data which is recorded on recording disc mediums, the original write data to eventually be reproduced using a disc drive apparatus capable of reproducing data from recording media having differing recording densities. In the event that the write data is to be recorded on a low density recording media, the original write data is corrected by displacing each bit for which a bit shift is estimated to occur during reproduction in a direction coincident with a direction of the estimated bit shift. In the event that the write data is to be recorded on a higher density recording media, the original write data is corrected by displacing each bit for which a bit shift is estimated to occur in a direction opposing the direction of the estimated bit shift.

Disclosed is a casting process with use of a lower mold 10 having a hollow corresponding to a partial profile of a casting, and an upper mold 22 supporting a core 24 and defining a mold cavity 12 in cooperation with the lower mold. The process includes: pouring a necessary minimum amount of a molten metal for obtaining a casting into the hollow; moving downwardly the upper mold at a predetermined first speed to a predetermined height level; further moving downwardly the upper mold assembly, from the predetermined height level, at a predetermined second speed by changing the descending speed of the upper mold; detecting a status information of the upper mold in a state when the upper mold is superimposed on the lower mold; and stopping the descending movement of the upper mold after detecting that the status information comes at a predetermined state.

An apparatus is provided for reproducing information recorded on a magnetic recording media. The recorded information is detected and amplified by a magnetic head device and a corresponding amplified detection signal is output therefrom. The amplified detection signal is input to a differentiator and to a non-ideal integrator. The outputs of the differentiator and the non-ideal integrator are subtracted from each other and the thus subtracted signal is applied to a zero crossing point detector. Pulses are generated representing the recorded information at each zero crossing point deteted by the zero crossing point detector. Since the non-ideal integrator does not effect integration of DC and low frequency signals, a compensating device is provided for generating a corresponding DC and low frequency signal and for adding this signal to the output signal of the non-ideal integrator.

A method of producing a mold core from green sand, wherein green sand is blown into a mold cavity which is sized to be greater than the size of the mold core to be obtained, so that a preformed mold body is prepared. The preformed mold body is then compacted by a compacting die having a cavity recess which is sized in conformity with the size of the mold core to be obtained, until the preformed mold body size is reduced to the final stage. In consequence, the green sand is compacted to develop uniform distributions of strength and hardness over the entire portion of the mold core as the product.
