摘要: A tool is provided for positioning a core stabilizing pin into a preassigned hole of a plurality of holes formed in an additively manufactured mold. The tool has a main body, a pin cavity, and a standoff. When the tool is used to insert a core stabilizing pin, of a precise, controlled length, into a preassigned hole, and the core stabilizing pin is inserted until the mold engagement end contacts the outer surface of the mold, the angle of the preassigned hole and thickness of the mold precisely positions the core stabilizing pin to engage and stabilize the core.

摘要: A method and apparatus for moving a mold in a molding machine, such as a matchplate molding machine. A lock element, preferably but not necessarily having at least 2 pieces, is movably mounted within a platen opening of a platen and within a pallet opening of a pallet. A second piece of the lock element can be fixed or secured with respect to the pallet, for example, to fix a position of a drag flask with respect to the pallet. An indexing device can be used to handle or move at least 2 molds with respect to the molding machine.

摘要: A method for the production of a casting core is provided. The method includes preparing a mold which has at least one cavity and at least one filling opening which is fluidically connected to the cavity, introducing a liquid, hardenable salt molding material into the cavity via the filling opening, and at least partial hardening of the salt molding material introduced into the cavity to form a hollow body produced from hardened salt molding material, the hollow body having at least one hollow space of the casting core which is delimited by the hardened salt molding material. The hollow space of the casting core is closed on all sides by means of the salt molding material introduced into the cavity. A casting core is also provided.
