摘要: A numerically controlled (NC) machine tool has apparatus for automatically positioning and feeding a cutting tool to follow a programmably predetermined path. Sensing devices are provided to detect when the cutting tool suffers an abnormality, such as becoming dull or chipped. The feed devices of the NC machine tool are then commanded, by an arithmetic unit having a memory and by an NC command generating unit, to automatically retreat the cutting tool. It retreats, without interference with the workpiece, to a first position, parametrically determined by the shape and size of the workpiece, cutting tool data for the abnormality, completion and tool exchange positions, and by the nature of the machining operation. This retreat location is a position at which the cutting tool may be replaced. After replacement of the cutting tool, the cutting tool is automatically returned, via the first position, to a second position from which the machining is resumed. The second position is determined by the arithmetic means to provide for repeated machining of a portion of the surface of the workpiece leading to the position at which the abnormality was sensed.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for color correction of color image data obtained by an electronic camera determine a correction to data representative of the color image based upon an estimated illuminant using a neural network, multilayer perceptron models and/or coactive neuro-fuzzy inference system models, and apply the correction to the data representative of the color image. Data representative of the color corrected data may be recorded or transmitted. A method of recording image data obtained by an electronic camera captures a color image, generates data representative of the image, estimates an illuminant for the captured color image, generates data representative of the estimated illuminant and records the data representative of the image with the data representative of the estimated illuminant. A method of transmitting image data obtained by an electronic camera captures a color image, generates data representative of the image, estimates an illuminant for the captured color image, generates data representative of the estimated illuminant and transmits the data representative of the image with the data representative of the estimated illuminant.

摘要: A proportion predicting system for realizing a predetermined target by mixing a predetermined number of elements at a predetermined proportion. The system includes a target characteristic extractor for extracting a characteristic of the predetermined target; an evaluating means operable upon receipt of proportion vectors, which are represented by the characteristic of the predetermined target and the quantity of each of the elements, respectively, to determine fitnesses of the proportion vectors based on the extracted characteristic of the predetermined target; and a GA processor for predicting the proportion vectors on the basis of the fitnesses according to a genetic algorithm in which the quantity of each of the elements and each of the proportion vectors are represented by a gene and a chromosome, respectively. The proportion vectors, which have been predicted by the GA processor, are inputted to the evaluating means to cause the evaluating means to repeat evaluation of the proportion vectors to determine optimum proportion vectors.
