    摘要: The present invention provides an electrode for batteries, especially a pasted electrode, and a process for producing the same which is improved in the adhesiveness between the active material and the electrode core material, utilization of the active material, discharge characteristics and in the charge and discharge cycling life. The resultant electroconductive core material comprises a perforated or non-perforated metal sheet such as punched metal sheet having sintered hollow nickel members separately or entangled fixed on the surfaces thereof. The hollow of the sintered nickel members is formed due to the thermal decomposition and evaporation of the resin fibers which have been applied to the electroconductive core material.

    摘要: As a nickel electrode for alkaline storage batteries, an electrode plate comprising a plurality of electroconductive substrates and a plurality of active material layers which are alternately laminated and integrated is used, whereby mutual electric conductivity of the active material and the electroconductive substrate in the direction of thickness is increased, and active material utilization, discharge voltage characteristics as batteries and charge-discharge repetition life are improved. The nickel electrode comprises a plurality of electrode leaves each of which comprises an electroconductive substrate coated with an active material and which are laminated and integrated so that the electroconductive substrate and the active material layer are alternated with each other, a plurality of said electroconductive substrates being electrically and mechanically connected through a part of the respective electroconductive substrates, said electroconductive substrate having a thickness of 5-60 .mu.m, said active material layer coated on the electroconductive substrate having a thickness of 20-250 .mu.m.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an alkaline secondary battery improved in the structure of the plate substrate, and provides an alkaline secondary battery which uses a three-dimensional porous substrate which is inexpensive, improved in stability in electrolyte and inhibited from shrinkage at sintering. The battery has such a construction comprising a sealed case containing positive electrodes mainly composed of a nickel oxide, negative electrodes mainly composed of a hydrogen-absorbing alloy or a cadmium oxide, an alkaline electrolyte containing at least one component selected from the group consisting of potassium hydroxide, lithium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide and separators, the substrate used for at least one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode being a three-dimensional porous iron sintered body on the surface of which is provided a nickel coating layer.

    摘要: The following steps are conducted: preparing a metal salt carried-substrate A by soaking a sintered nickel substrate in an acidic solution containing cobalt ions and at least one metal ions of magnesium ions, iron ions and manganese ions, and drying thus soaked substrate; preparing a hydroxide carried-substrate B by soaking the substrate A in an alkaline solution to deposit cobalt hydroxide and at least one metal hydroxide of magnesium hydroxide, iron hydroxide and manganese hydroxide in the pores and on the surface of the substrate A; obtaining an oxide carried-substrate C by oxidizing the cobalt hydroxide to produce cobalt oxide having a mean cobalt valence of over 2; and obtaining an active material carried-substrate D by soaking the substrate C in a solution containing nickel nitrate dissolved therein, drying thus soaked substrate C, and then soaking thus dried substrate C in an alkaline solution, to fill the active material in the substrate C.

    摘要: A relatively large rectangular sealed alkaline storage battery used for electric cars, etc. is disclosed. The battery has such an inner construction as to inhibit deformation of the electrode group caused by charging and discharging so as to improve the life characteristics. The electrode group comprises positive electrode plates alternating with negative electrode plates in a planar direction and separators between the adjacent electrode plates. The electrode group and an alkali electrolyte are inserted in a container, which is sealed by a cover provided with a safety vent and the position of the electrode group in the container is controlled by fixing poles to the cover. The amount of the alkali electrolyte is 1.5-2.5 cm.sup.3/ battery capacity 1 Ah. Especially, for a module battery, a given distance is provided between the shorter side face of the electrode group and the inner wall of the container, and the outer longer side faces of the container are constrained by a metallic plate.
