摘要: The present invention relates to a small fuel cell and a small fuel cell stack each allowing for improved output. Conventionally, in a direct methanol fuel cell, carbon dioxide gas produced at an anode electrode side is exhausted together with a methanol aqueous solution. From the methanol aqueous solution, the carbon dioxide gas is separated, and then the methanol aqueous solution is reused as fuel. In this case, a liquid-gas separation device needs to be provided additionally, which results in a large fuel cell with an increased weight, disadvantageously. The present invention is made to solve such a problem by providing a fuel cell including a first unit cell having a cathode electrode, an electrolyte membrane, an anode electrode, and an anode collector layer in this order; and one or more spacers arranged on the anode collector layer. The anode collector layer has a fuel flow path for supplying fuel to the anode electrode, and a through hole for exhausting a reaction product generated by reaction in the anode electrode. Each of the spacers has an exhaust flow path for exhausting the reaction product to outside the fuel cell. The through hole and the exhaust flow path communicate with each other.

摘要: There is provided a fuel cell including a membrane electrode assembly having a cathode electrode, an electrolyte membrane, and an anode electrode in this order, and an anode collector layer. The anode collector layer includes a pair of first walls provided along two opposite sides. The membrane electrode assembly is fitted between the first walls such that the anode electrode faces the anode collector layer. A fuel cell layer employing the fuel cells is also provided. Preferably, the fuel cell further includes a pair of second walls formed on the pair of first walls.

摘要: The present invention provides a solar-cell-integrated gas production device that can generate a first gas and a second gas by utilizing an electromotive force of a solar cell, and that can supply power to an external circuit by utilizing the same solar cell.The solar-cell-integrated gas production device according to the present invention comprises: a photoelectric conversion part having a light acceptance surface and its back surface; a first electrolysis electrode provided on the back surface of the photoelectric conversion part so as to be capable of being immersed into an electrolytic solution; a second electrolysis electrode provided on the back surface of the photoelectric conversion part so as to be capable of being immersed into the electrolytic solution; and a changeover part, wherein the first electrolysis electrode and the second electrolysis electrode are provided to be capable of electrolyzing the electrolytic solution to generate a first gas and a second gas by utilizing an electromotive force generated by irradiating the photoelectric conversion part with light, and the changeover part makes a changeover between a circuit that outputs the electromotive force, generated by irradiating the photoelectric conversion part outputs the electromotive force, generated by irradiating the photoelectric conversion part with light, to the first electrolysis electrode and the second electrolysis electrode.

摘要: A hydrogen production device of the present invention includes a photoelectric conversion portion having a light-receiving surface and a back surface, a first electrolysis electrode provided on the back surface, and a second electrolysis electrode provided on the back surface. As a result of reception of light by the photoelectric conversion portion, a potential difference is generated between a first area on the back surface and a second area on the back surface, the first area becomes electrically connected to the first electrolysis electrode, and the second area becomes electrically connected to the second electrolysis electrode. When the first electrolysis electrode and the second electrolysis electrode contact an electrolyte solution, the first electrolysis electrode forms a hydrogen generation portion that generates H2 from the electrolyte solution using an electromotive force generated as a result of reception of light by the photoelectric conversion portion and the second electrolysis electrode forms an oxygen generation portion that generates O2 from the electrolyte solution using the electromotive force.
