摘要: A system comprising a substrate and a ceramic thermal barrier layer formed of columns which is applied to the substrate, characterized in that the columns are spatially separated from each other at the substrate or at least hardly contact each other is disclosed. A method for producing the system by laser welding is also disclosed. The disclosed material makes it possible to produce durable, heat-resistant components that can be used, for example, in turbines or in metal-supported fuel cells.

摘要: A close-end fuel cell and an anode bipolar plate thereof are provided. The anode bipolar plate includes an airtight conductive frame and a conductive porous substrate disposed within the airtight conductive frame. In the airtight conductive frame, an edge of a first side has a fuel inlet, and an edge of a second side has a fuel outlet. The conductive porous substrate has at least one flow channel, where a first end of the flow channel communicates with the fuel inlet, a second end of the flow channel communicates with the fuel outlet. The flow channel is provided with a blocking part near the fuel inlet to divide the flow channel into two areas.

摘要: Provided are separator systems for electrochemical systems providing electronic, mechanical and chemical properties useful for a variety of applications including electrochemical storage and conversion. Embodiments provide structural, physical and electrostatic attributes useful for managing and controlling dendrite formation and for improving the cycle life and rate capability of electrochemical cells including silicon anode based batteries, air cathode based batteries, redox flow batteries, solid electrolyte based systems, fuel cells, flow batteries and semisolid batteries. Disclosed separators include multilayer, porous geometries supporting excellent ion transport properties, providing a barrier to prevent dendrite initiated mechanical failure, shorting or thermal runaway, or providing improved electrode conductivity and improved electric field uniformity. Disclosed separators include composite solid electrolytes with supporting mesh or fiber systems providing solid electrolyte hardness and safety with supporting mesh or fiber toughness and long life required for thin solid electrolytes without fabrication pinholes or operationally created cracks.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a gas diffusion layer structure for a unit cell of a fuel cell, the gas diffusion layer structure includes a gas diffusion layer disposed between a catalyst layer and a separator of the unit cell of the fuel cell, in which the gas diffusion layer includes a microporous layer positioned adjacent to the catalyst layer, and a base layer positioned between the microporous layer and the separator, in which the base layer includes: a microporous layer adjacent region disposed adjacent to the microporous layer, and a gas channel adjacent region disposed adjacent to the separator, and in which the gas diffusion layer is pressed so that a solid volume fraction of the gas channel adjacent region and the microporous layer adjacent region increases to a target solid volume fraction.
