    摘要: An image processing apparatus for extracting images from a continuous image sequence includes a storage unit that stores image information about images constituting the image sequence; an image reading unit that reads the image information from the storage unit; and an image change amount calculating unit that calculates a predetermined image change amount between at least two images using the image information read by the image reading unit. The apparatus also includes an image change amount information adding unit that adds information about the image change amount calculated by the image change amount calculating unit to a corresponding image; and an image extracting unit that extracts a preset number of images from the image sequence based on the information added to each image by the image change amount information adding unit.

    摘要: A laser beam type distance measuring device comprises a laser beam emitter; a returning laser beam detector; a polygon mirror rotated about a first axis for reflecting a going laser beam from the laser beam emitter toward a remote object and reflecting a returning laser beam from the object toward a given optical track along which the returning laser beam travels to the returning laser beam detector; and a nodding mechanism for pivoting the polygon mirror about a second axis which is perpendicular to the first axis. These parts are housed in a case which has a window opening through which the going and returning laser beams pass. An outwardly swelled transparent cover covers the window opening in such a manner that a depressed inner surface thereof faces toward the polygon mirror in the case. A shielding plate is installed in the case near the polygon mirror to prevent the going laser beam from entering the given optical track.

    摘要: In an oxygen sensor of the type having an oxygen ion conductive tube of solid electrolyte, a ceramic heater disposed within the oxygen ion conductive tube for heating the same is in the form of a quadrangular prism or a bar of a rectangular cross section. The ceramic heater is formed by piling up ceramic green sheets with metallic thick-film patterns for heat generating resistors interposed between adjacent two of the ceramic green sheets. The ceramic heater is so shaped as to satisfy the relation of b/a=0.75.about.1 where "a" is the width and "b" is the thickness of the ceramic heater. The metallic thick films, which the metallic thick-film patterns are turned to by firing, are arranged so as to be parallel to the side surfaces opposed in the thickness direction of the ceramic heater.

    摘要: An image processing apparatus receives an image signal and generates a display image having an image range associated with a display area of a display unit from an image based on the image signal. The image processing apparatus includes a position-of-interest-calculating-unit, a frame-out-accuracy-calculation-unit, an alteration-variable-decision-unit and an image-alteration-unit. The position-of-interest-calculating-unit calculates a position of interest as a position of an object of interest in the image. The frame-out-accuracy-calculation-unit calculates a frame-out accuracy representing an accuracy that the position of interest deviates from the image range based on the position of interest and the image range. The alteration-variable-decision-unit decides a processing variable of alteration processing performed with respect to the image in conformity with the frame-out accuracy. The image-alteration-unit performs the alteration processing with respect to the image in conformity with the decided processing variable to generate a signal of the display image.

A feature-value-determining section determines the feature value of the input or designated multimedia object. A weighting-factor-determining section determines the determined feature-value weighting factor of the multimedia object. A similarity-retrieval section retrieves the similarity of the multimedia object previously stored in the database by using the determined feature value and the determined feature-value weighting factor. A displaying section displays a multimedia object similar to the multimedia object designated by the inputting/designating section in accordance with the result of similarity retrieval. A similarity-ranking-changing section changes similarity rankings of the displayed multimedia object. A similarity-recalculating section recalculates the feature-value weighting factor of the multimedia object in accordance with the changed similarity ranking and recalculates a similarity by using the feature-value weighting factor.

    摘要: An object retrieval method used is characterized as follows. When a user selects objects, the dispersion between the objects is found with respect to each of a plurality of feature quantities. Within a retrieval range of objects, the dispersion between the objects is found with respect to each of a plurality of feature quantities. Both dispersions are compared for each feature quantity. As a result of the comparison, there may be a feature quantity which causes more converged dispersion in the selected objects. This feature quantity is provided with a weight larger than any other feature quantities to weight each feature quantity. An object is retrieved from the retrieval range based on the weighted feature quantities.
